Why are you asking the underage b& failed-normalfag board?

The majority of the user base didn't attain cognizance until around the mid-2010's.

pretty much yeah that's true

I used to hate it but 2010s sucked so hard it made me retrospectively like the 2000s, Music still had variety, movies werent all cape shit, tv was entering its prestige phase, so you got like OZ, sopranos, the wire, etc video games had become 3d and it was still aimed at boys, i was a child so politics didnt really matter, it was odd that despite two wars people really werent hyper political like they got in the 2010s

i remember 9/11, i didnt care at all, i was mad because it was on every channel and it was making me miss my cartoons

oh yeah, internet was still wild west, social media was in its infancy, people still used forums and 4chan was le hacker on steroids

2000: New millennium very exciting, Eminem everywhere and the thing he hates most boy bands also blowing up, I jammed out to this ngl https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXAX-HxoznU&pp=ygUVY2FuIGkgZ2V0IHlvdXIgbnVtYmVy and spent the summer riding my Razor scooter.

2001: Music on the radio was actually good, very upbeat, eurodance was popular in the US. Summer was very chill until 9/11 happened, then things got really serious, some were afraid to take planes and others were inspired to enlist.

2002: Last time life was kinda normal before everyone had a phone, last year I went to summer camp, had a blast, went to a teen camp at the park which was mostly other 13 year olds, stillg reta music on the radio, listen to many genres hip hop, pop, alternative, even country. This song really set the mood, fond memories of being on the camp bus and parents car with this playing in my headphones: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NK1knNrZddE

2003: Music started to become very sexualized in a noticeable way. Girls wore low rise pants and crops, saw so much ass crack and bare midriff. It was still normal to meet people randomly outside or on public transit.

2004: Hated school but I enjoyed reading, sitting alone on the porch and random places outside with a book. Some Christian rock bands like Switchfoot were mainstream, and I enjoyed hearing them on the radio, also cute young girls like Jojo. Still never had a gf, but I loved her voice and the beat of this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wflwxfyNHgk But this chill out tune was the soundtrack of my summer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egX9ZDaIrkU

2005: The heyday of Myspace. I didn't have a computer at home, and often spent my free time in certain libraries, that had unrestricted time, nobody over my shoulder. Got back into scooter riding, which guys at school made fun of me for, but it was useful now that I had to take myself to school and, it was a joy to cruise around at night. First part time summer job, bought used CDs
>>
2006: Still spent a lot of time at the library on Myspace, looking for pictures of girls I knew on there and Livejournal, listening to Yahoo music and talking with friends on AIM express at the library, cause I had no cell phone or computer still. Finally kissed a girl and thought I was going to get a gf, but she told me she was drunk (unbeknownst to me at the time) and it meant nothing.

2007: The shift from student to wagecuck was very abrupt, also it seems so easy to simply get another job. Making $11 an hour full time felt like big money for an 18 year old that used to have to beg my parents for a dollar to buy soda. Likewise I had a few short term gfs and finally had sex. It just seemed so easy, I was cute and young looking and some college girls and older women at work flirted with me, happened so naturally.

2008: I don't remember much because it seemed like I worked 50 hours a week for most of the year, tried to take some classes at community college, dropped out because I couldn't balance them with work, and I was making more money, watched a lot of TV and got socially lazy. Hooked up with a few women, hung out with old friends occasionally, but mainly just work sleep repeat. Life was still pretty good though all things considered, I learned about many of the managers making big bucks 5 years into their career, and my boss said I can do that no problem, on the up and up.

2009: During this year I got very nostalgic for 90s and early 2000s music. Wasn't listening to the radio hardly ever and out of touch with pop culture in general. I installed AOL radio and some long gone music apps and listened to 1989-2005 music nonstop at home and on the way to work. Finally started using Facebook, and I was excited to add literally hundreds of friends or at least acquaintances from school and other places, but the platform felt soulless, unlike MySpace and LJ which were fun. Had my first smartphone, used it for internet on the bus ride to/from work.
