Realize you will feel terrible whatever you do, whether you attempt to distract yourself or do your chores or whatever. Remodel your brain, put aside all the baggage that has built up since childhood and focus on what is important. Every time some neurotic thought crops up find some way of dismissing it.

Go to sleep at the right time, take up light exercise, eat beetroot for the antioxidants which will help your brain deal with the inflammation and plaque or whatever causes depression, wear ear plugs and try to ignore stressful bullshit going on in the world, talk to people who care about you and minimize contact with garbage people, if you have no one, find good people even if they are old or fat or a little cringe, because life is short and there are good people out there.

Don't want to sound like a self-help book, it is not as simple as "just do it", but each little baby step you make improves things.

you're so gullible to trust internet retards that advise against tried and tested meds and in favour of snake oil rebranded as 'nootropics'
take your meds, they will help

If your advice helps someone, that means they weren't depressed. If they are depressed. your advice will not work.

>tested
>meds
i missed the part where nobody knows how they work but yeah i guess they are "tested" to not kill you
>>
>>82930124
you can read up on what receptors they act on. they are tested on what results they have- they are mostly positive
meanwhile your nootropics are just placebo

You're just lazy anon. Accept it and then work on it.

>wake up
>get out of bed immediately (very important)
>brush my teeth (also important)
>start a to-do list for the next 30 minutes
>check mark getting out of bed and brushing teeth
>forbid myself from using a pc or phone for at least 15 minutes, ideally 30 minutes if possible
>try to do something in that moment that's productive or makes my life a little better
If I can handle this then my day is much more likely to go in the right direction, otherwise I just waste every minute while feeling bad about myself. You need to take control of your life as much as possible, even if it's just half an hour in the morning.

I found out in late highschool from some studies that caffeine helps depressed brains to function, and I can def attest to it working. only drawback is, you may well develop a caffeine addiction if you haven't already.
>>
>>82929984
You don't, "not functioning" is a symptom of depression
>>
>>82931472
It's an ersatz of true stimulants like bupropion and methyphenidate, but it does work. However if you are depressed, you have to take so much, caffeine will give you side effects LIKE the aforementioned stimulants. I know from experience (diarhea, nausea, sweating, dehydration, tremors)

>how do you function with depression
You're not supposed to function when you're depressed.
>B-but society still expect me to work and be functional
Sorry nothing to be done about it, I know I sound like an asshole but really in a good environment you shouldn't be depressed in the first place. Society is not normal.

I also forgot to add, if you're depressed long enough (10+ years) it'll become part of you and you'll start functioning again (not like a normalfag but you'll be able to keep a wagie job)
