You see, OP, the word "Pride" used to mean a much different thing before the world turned into the rotting corpse that it is now. Actually I guess it still means the same thing, the general connotation is just different, but the thing about pride is that by thinking you're too big to fail, you've just set yourself up to get absolutely one-shot in your ignorant hubris. Also, there's still no cure for AIDS, just treatments to suppress the symptoms and infectivity, but as a retrovirus, it still writes itself into the infected person's DNA, that's not directly related, I just thought that was interesting.

You can still see remnants of those other forgotten gods like ishtar in the virgin Mary who got downgraded to a human woman who birthed Jesus. Its actually pretty funny when Christians talk about the lore of their religion as if the current version was the one and only unchanged version. An not merely one of a long series of revisions.
