What is fueling the shift in online responsibility we've seen in recent years? It used to be almost unanimously agreed upon that the owners of an online website or app cannot be held responsible for the behavior of its users, who are instead held responsible for their own actions if not their parents given their age, and now that seems to have completely 180'd.
>>82987963Dunno but the "child proofing" of the internet is fucking retarded and needs to stop, its ruining it.It should be childfree, not childproof, and people need to stop giving their kids internet access. But you know the world is full of retards, will always be full of retards, always breed more retards, and always raise more retards. So I doubt anything will actually change, and people will just continue to blame the internet for their shitty parenting.I still believe people should be required to get a license to be allowed to have and raise a child, but thats not a law because if it was then the human population would probably die out. Thats how low the bar is lmao
>>82988095the whole "child proofing" is just a cover for being more invasive and centralized
>>82988102this tbqath
>>82987963youre talking about net neutrality, which some indian got rid of, it was a semi big thing at the time
>>82988095We're just moving towards censorship and control, it's the natural course as things break down and society gets progressively more unstable
>>82987963Its true that centralised control is the point but having the sites bear no responsibility was always just about rich fucks shedding all accountability for the damage their platforms do, externalising the cost to society of what goes on on their sites.
