was 4chan's golden age entirely due to the average age of posters being on the younger side? or was it because the landscape of the internet was radically different due to its smaller size?

>golden age
You mean golden like piss, right?
>>
The internet was just different. Nowadays everyone is either jaded, brain-rotted or actively trying to psyop other people. This applies the most to Xitter, but you can see it on 4chan as well, to a lesser degree. Nobody wants to put in the work to build an habitable community.

So what you are basically saying is that it is impossible to go back?
>>
People had more of a spine back then than what they do now, that's for sure.
>>
>>84028557
Not him, but nothing is impossible. 4chan still has it's spirit, just the fire within needs a bit of rekindling. If we just keep it simple for now, do shit for the lulz and stick to that then we'd be right. In fact, it's ever more easier to do that now than what it was back then. Can produce even funnier results too.

We aren't dealing solely with white nerds with PCs anymore.
Pre social-media nobody linked you to 4chan, you had to find this place. You were drawn toward it because you liked what it offered.

Every motherfucker on the globe with a phone can come here, this site has worldwide infamy now. It's not much different than twitter.

80% of 4chan users never did anything for the lulz and just found it cringe. Le epic win people mostly moved on to reddit, maybe you should too
>>

>cringe
>reddit
Nice meme, but perhaps you should take your own advice zoom zoom.

>this site has worldwide infamy now
I'd like anons here to sit with that for a bit. Imagine all the lulz we could have, we could troll the world.
>>
>>84028458
51% of internet posters are bots and the number is probably even higher here considering it's the same exact threads with the same exact pictures all day every day
>>
this used to be neurodivergent autist space

now every normie goes here

it's even a negative to post your ideas here because indians and normies unironically browse this site to steal your ideas
>>
>>84028613
Yes but the obvious observation is that 4chan no longer has a monopoly of people who did "shit for the lulz"
1) """charmingly""" : occupy insta/tiktok where they can profit off it themselves
2) embarrassingly: are inconsistent, spur of the moment/unorganized and therefore lack visibility and probably found via reddit or youtube shorts
3) extremely cringe/nefarious/overt public menace/not in lulz spirit: became kick streamers
