What was it like to be alive during this?
>>84031024Finding out that I share a board with people that weren't alive during 9/11 is far worse than 9/11.I dunno honestly, I was in pre-school so I didn't really get exposed to it until a few days after it happened. I just knew my dad had to work a lot suddenly during that time and that he was really stressed out. And his boss would call him in at 3 in the morning some times.
idk i was five weeks old
i was in middle school when it happenedit was a big deallike a bunch of parents came and took their kids out of school but not meteachers started rumors that other planes would hit our school
>>84031047the xbox 360 is older than me unc, jeez at your age i'll probably be doing something really important.
>>84031024a lot like today actually: jews pushing for war with one of their enemies.
I live in Ausfail and my morning cartoons before school were interrupted by this shit. At school everyone was hysterical about WW3 starting and then by recess everyone had forgotten about it.
flag sales were through the roof
>>84031074>at your age i'll probably be doing something really importantYou won't be.Zoomers are aging into adulthood during the AI years so you'll be doing far less than adults in their 30s and 40s are doing now.
>>84031024>What was it like to be alive during this?I was with my dad, he had just fixed two VCRs the moment that happened and it hit the news. It felt odd, a sense of derealization or disconnection from reality. I knew something bad happened, I just didn't realize the gravity of it until hours later.
>>84031024I wonder what the memes were like during and after 9/11
>>84031024Elder millennial here, just shat my pants a lot. >>84031074Some of us are older than google
>>84031127https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3oNmFFNRtE8
didn't really notice cuz i was still too pissed off about off about the marketing for star wars ep 1. shit was plastered all over everything
If you're too young to remember you should kill yourself.
>>84031128>Some of us are older than google100% of millennials are older than Google. Youngest millennials were born in 1996.
>>84031024guys in the living room were yelling really loudly and woke me upi walked out to the 2nd plane hittingits crazy how psyoped we were about that and i was part of that crowd but eventually learned more than what the mainstream was saying thanks to 4chan
>>84031150Episode 1 was released over two years prior to 9/11 you absolute mong.
>>84031024I was in high school and heard of it first from my friend who was all "oh man this is it WW3 incoming". A chick I knew was on vacation in the area a week earlier, she was a bit shaken as she kinda got obsessed with the idea she could've been there the day it happened.
I was 11 in 6th grade. The teachers kept it hidden from us, kids were getting picked up by their parents so we knew something was going on. Older kids got to watch it on the news as it was happening. Finally at the end of the day the music teacher told us what happened. The next day the social studies teacher held a discussion, several boys got in trouble for saying we needed to nuke/bomb/kill all the 'ragheads' and the teacher let us know Islamophobia was not to be tolerated. They all received a 3-day suspension by the school principle, a jew. I know this will get shit on here but it was the right call. The school admin got major flak for this but he held firm. I hope he saved kids from falling into unnecessary hate.
>>84031166>oh man this is it WW3 incomingMan we really have been saying this for 70 years huh?
>>84031127>Now watch this driveOriginally ofcourse
>>84031159yes i know.but the marketing was so aggressive that i was still pissed
I was 10 at school. I didn't learn about what happened until after school got out. I thought it was cool that we were going to war. It was like Command & Conquer but real life.
>>84031024i was sucking on titties. making a foid bitch change my diapers. life was good
>>84031024Shut up little faggot. I was 5 in nyc. All I remember was going home early because they closed the schools and being happy until i saw my mom crying
>>84031152As in some of us itt
>>84031074>jeez at your age i'll probably be doing something really importantKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKScreenshot your post and save it for later m8. We all thought that
>>84031127Like this.I remember someone in Something Awful's Photoshop Phriday made a shop of the Death Star blasting the twin towers six months after 9/11 and there was some actual outrage over it.
>>84031189I have a funny anecdote I just remembered. I have an edgy uncle who helped me make a cardboard replica of the twin towers. I don't remember getting this assignment and I don't remember handing it in but I do remember that it was kindergarten and that was the year the towers fell. I only have flashes of memories of me and him making it in the living room. One of those flashes is me and him drawing stick figures falling down the side the building while he's laughing his ass off and I'm laughing along with him. I have no idea if we erased it before I handed it in
>>84031207Lol beat me to it, I hope anon remembers this moment
>>84031127Throughout the 2000s, as a kid, anytime I got my hands on a plane in a video game I'd fly it into the nearest tall building like an itch I couldn't resist scratching. That's not really a meme, but I'm sure every kid had that same impulse, and that's a meme.
>>84031024I was 10 and I was eating froot loops before school when the towers fell. For some reason I later knew it was a jewish inside job even at 10 years old. I don't even know where I first heard it from but it made sense to me.
>>84031024The towers collapsing were playing on TV constantly like every news story for a year. There was a tribute music show will all the biggest stars. Talking about how they had to get back at Osama Bin Laden invade Afganstian. Meanwhile a bunch of turban guys with boxcutters with training in tiny prop airplanes were able to make precision strikes against the twin towers and pentagon. Everything just started to seem so off.
>>84031074sorry my guy, the second you started posting here it was over for you
>>84031024Constant fear and paranoia for the most part, up until around mid-2003 (after the invasion of Iraq started). I remember my homeroom teacher crying (I was in the 7th Grade when it happened) because she was apparently being bullied by other members of the faculty and students because she was Muslim. The government was constantly announcing how we should all be alert, be okay with the government opening our mail to check for anthrax, be ready to board up windows for an imminent biological attack, etc. For people in my age-group, we mostly had Harry Potter and GameCube/PS2/Xbox to keep us 'distracted' and calm, but it was certainly an interesting time; everything needed to have a hyper-nationalistic tinge, particularly music.>they even started calling French Fries "Freedom Fries">Nickelback released their song, "This is how you remind me" on that day
I was a freshman in high school in nyc when it happened they put us all in the auditorium and had us watch a small tv, it was a very small tv so we couldnt really discern what was going on other than some vague idea of a terrorist attackI didnt know for sure until later in the day, there was actually a mosque across the street from our school some Italian kid said to me they probably had something to do with itthe next day we had off. also for some reason I had real bad diarrhea that week, so I remember going to bed early the day of instead of watching tv. also walking home I remember seeing f15s flying overhead. also the subsequent weeks I think pretty much for the whole semester wed get at least one day off
9/11 made people that never mentioned anything political in their life turn into raging maniacs. it broke peoples brains. meanwhile i was naming myself Osama in my CS 1.3 servers and spamming "terrorists win lolol" a real badass.
