I really liked Fringe as a TV show, The Man in the High castle interested me from the perspective of the what-if in it's world building, Fallout is interesting to me as well. Although it was smut, there was a really good story that used to be on Literotica which delved surprisingly deep into it's society but it seems like it was wiped from existence. It's definitely not some intellectual masterpiece, it just aims to connect with you on an emotional level. Her mom dies like halfway through the book, but the suffering continues because even in death your tormentor can still torment you just from how they shaped you. A lot of people on 4chan were very disappointed because they went in expecting a shocking expose on the entertainment industry, and instead it's just a detailed look at one specific mother of one specific kid in the entertainment industry. Even other kids and other parents are shown in the book to be much saner and healthier than she is. Instead of a takedown of the whole system, it's just one completely random tragedy of life circumstances.Don't do anorexia and bulimia, folks. It's not worth it.
