I have since found out that Koreans are notoriously difficult to speak in anything but English with. If you speak in Korean to a Korean, oftentimes they'll correct you in English, and then continue in English. However Korean tutors have always been high quality and worth the money. Next time I go to China it will be to Jilin. I'm confident in my Chinese enough to get around and read average books, but when I found out that there was a sizable population of Korean speakers in Jilin, I decided on there because I could concurrently practice my Chinese and Korean at the same time. But Korean is just so irritating to practice. When a Korean learner drops Korean it's like being in a trench and seeing another soldier get blown up.
