The Democratic party, especially at lower polity levels (states & big cities) seems almost willfully to be anti-prosperity:

Against Waymo/self-driving
Against data centers
For much higher marginal tax rates
For wealth taxes
For exorbitant pension systems for public employees
For more public employees - especially dubious pre-K programs and the like
Against housing
For silly infrastructure proposals like California HSR
For environmental protections and veto points
For government funding of special interest groups that sue the government or private actors (landlords/housing developers)

While the median voter doesn't know about or understand the impacts of each of these, individually, they can see (or sense) the general impact, and that's driving the exodus from blue states to red. They're voting with their feet.

banned from /pol/? i'll jork you later
>>
because they want to keep people voting dem, the second they get any sort of prosperity they switch to republicans.
>>
its so weird how conservatives fixate on individual cases. you're still seething about the daycare? this retarded war has wasted orders of magnitude more money. its the same on /r/conservative, they'll be just as many posts about "random nigger commits a crime", " random twitter user says something retarded" as actual political issues. I guess you guys just aren't really capable of abstract thinking so you cling to easily understandable anecdotes
>>
>>84321659
we don't think the government should be providing healthcare or childcare. Running the military is something that is the government's purview.
>>
it will come back to bite them in the 2030 census when they lose representatives and red states gain them because of population levels
>>
every time someone poses as a republican here its actually a democrat, and vice versa, just state your opinions plainly without the reverse psychology
>>
>>84321628
>For environmental protections
Protecting the environment is good but the dems don't actually give a shit so they'll just put a tax on plastic bags or some shit instead of something that'll actually help the planet

According to the Congressional Budget Office, Defense is 2.9% of GDP, While Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and Income security programs are 12% of GDP

biology precludes raising the floor. if you have a religious belief in 'equality' that only leaves lowering the ceiling. this extremely simple syllogism deals with progressive utopianism completely.
>>

>For much higher marginal tax rates
>For wealth taxes
these are good. You fell for the billionaire propaganda that you have a chance of reaching their level and you want to enjoy the perks. You never will. They're going to keep taking advantage of the working class as long as you let them.
>>
>>84321628
how can you justify being against HSR while also supporting self-driving? one is obviously more efficient than the other and doesn't require untested technology or clogging up the roads.
>>
>>84322164
income taxes started on the ultra wealthy too, and now everyone pays them. Give the government a chance to collect another tax and soon everyone will pay as well.
>>

>data centers are prosperity
u wut m8? They're pollution and human replacement machines

how many rupees you get from the white house for this shitpost OP?

that happened because the ultra wealthy lobbied the government to shift the tax burden towards the poor and working class so they could lower taxes for the wealthy.

The Dems are just a ethnic spoils party for brown people, and the whites that think that browns should get more spoils
That's it. Everything they do makes sense when you see it through that lens.

Everything you listed gets in the way (in the short term at least, in an opportunity cost sort of way) of giving blacks and browns more welfare and power. It's just Whitey On The Moon forever

>the ethnic minority wing of capitalism is still capitalist
what a shock
america does not have a left-wing party, and it's by design because the jews would not tolerate the working class actually being united.
>>
>>84322177
what a stupid fucking reason to not tax billionaires
>>
>>84322372
You will never have what you conceive of a "real left wing party" because people like you will always bend the knee for browns wanting more. That's it.

Leftism, as it exists, is just about maximising brown biomass. Until you grapple with that you will never get what you want.

People who defend billionaires online don't get any money
But people who ask for more taxes for billionaires online also don't get any more money
There's no reason to have an opinion one way or another.
Taxing more so you can send more weapons to Ukraine or Israel doesn't leave anyone happy

The welfare issue is a big deal
City journal just exploded massive fraud in California, and Nick Shirley exposed Somalis living abroad are generating more money than the country of Somalia.
Ilhan Omar married her brother so he could enter the country and her family was rich and connected in Somalia, and is implicated in the Somaliland genocide.
>>
>>84321628
They're more than likely against this because it primarily benefits billionaires..
>>
>>84321821
I think in 2026 and 2028 dems could have a short rebound because of trumps overly aggressive form of governing but like 2020 they'll learn the wrong lessons, choke and give the reps a trifecta for 8-10 years after, with that census playing a role in the uphill battle for the dems at that point.
>>
>>84323119
When California bans gas powered stoves and leafblowers how is that owning the billionaires? When it makes it more difficult to build multi family homing how does that own the billionaires? When they make private construction companies rich by throwing billions at high speed rail which has 0 feet of operating track laid and is connecting 2 places nobody cares about.
>>
>>84322177
The average r9k user is a depressed sexually confused zoomer/late millenial and is more likely to kill themselves before the age of 40 than the general population. Nobody here will give a shit about the long term consequences of introducing new laws that strangle the middle and lower class, because it won't affect a rotting corpse hanging from the ceiling of their mothers basement. Of the two emotionally charged (you)s I read to this one even mentioned billionaires lobbying last time, completely missing the point. Or maybe the pills have rotted his inability to understand cause and effect idk.
>>

>bans gas stoves and leaf blowers
Made up propaganda, you fell for it.
>makes it more difficult to build multi family homing
Republicans hate apartment buildings and love sprawling soulless suburbs.
>0 feet of operating track laid and is connecting 2 places nobody cares about
Republicans have sucked off the car lobby for 80 years and continue to sell you and your community out to them. Keep financing cars you don't need, keep buying gas. Whatever you do, don't develop any infrastructure besides highways and parking lots. Good puppy.

If you make under $20,000,000 annually you should be for all of those things too.

"Prosperity" is nonsense bullshit think-tank talk. The American working class was slightly less-poor after Roosevelt and everything that led up to him, and very soon is returning to miserable poverty.

Hint: It's not because of the Democratic party.

I'm betting your understanding of economics is limited to the econ 101 course you took in high school or college.

California law AB 1346, signed in 2021, bans the sale of new gas-powered leaf blowers, lawn mowers, and other small off-road engines (SORE) under 25 horsepower, with regulations taking effect starting January 1, 2024.

Following the order, the California Air Resources Board will develop regulations to mandate that 100 percent of in-state sales of new passenger cars and trucks are zero-emission by 2035

everyone is against prosperity, the republicans in my town are completely anti development for anything. it is only the moderate ones that vote for development
