They live in a state that borders mine, and we are talking about meeting somewhere in person in May or June once the weather is nicer. It's tough because neither of us have cars, so our options are limited. I guess my point is that it can actually happen, but the odds are that you are going to have a lot more short conversations that lead to nothing than you are real connections. That was definitely the case for me.

I decided to stop doing this last December, which is also when I started posting on this board specifically. Since then I've added 5 people from this board and none of them worked out. Mostly because of stupid shit I did from being insecure and inexperienced. It's a learning experience, I feel I'm a lot better at socializing now.

I've been trying to get more into multiplayer recently, but I usually play mechanically or strategically intensive single player games, the ones I'm sinking the most hours into right now are Cultic and Europa Universalis 5. Would you say your identity is based a lot on the media you consume or do you just prefer people with similar taste?
