How can I tell if I'm a normie larping depression or if I am actually depressed?
>>84348068This is how chud looks like in iberia damn
>>84348068i always thought depression was this thing sophisticated normies have
>>84348068https://hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com/2013/05/depression-part-two.htmlthis is the most accurate description of depression that I can resonate with. every other one is just generic shit like "you feel le sad ;c" or "you dont have interest in your hobbies". if any of what she says applies to you then yeah you probably have it.
>>84348198this is just anhedonia. ive been depressed throughout my life and I never had anhedonia
>>84348198i DID experience this and it was when i took antidepressants i felt like my emotions became numb. didn't feel anything, didn't have motivation for doing anything and overall felt miserable. it felt completely different from the depression i had growing up. Growing up i was suicidal i hated myself, was bullied. when im feeling very depressed i can still enjoy other activities but i feel an unending feeling of doom, like my heart aches makes me want to cry makes me want to put my head through a grinder and it makes want to tear my neck apart>It isn't always something you can fight back against with hope. It isn't even something it's nothing. It felt like this when I took the drugs, but I wouldn't say this applies at ALL to what I've been feeling throughout my life.
DEPRESSION? ISNT THAT JUST A FANCY WORD FOR FEELlNG BUMMED OUT?!
>>84348218Anhedonia is a core symptom of depression. If you don't have it then you probably have something else like undiagnosed adhd (which is often misdiagnosed as depression funnily enough).
>>84348375can I still have anhedonia if I 'enjoy' spending time on imageboards?
>>84348393No that's cheating. Pick a got dam lane!!
>>84348408Damn it, I hoped that I had depression so that I could actually get diagnosed and given meds but I guess I'm just a truecel chud who cannot be helped
>>84348375ADHD makes you suicidal now?
>>84348375It's depression but it's just a different type than yours. I do have ADHD so my guess is that it presents differently due to the emotional dysregulation that comes with the condition.I think it's stupid to not label whatever I had as depression because all of the other symptoms were still present.
>>84348393no, if you had it you would be clicking through imageboards looking for threads that interest you but none of them do, then you click on other websites and they bore you to death as well. I'm being hyperbolic ofc because anhedonia is a spectrum but when I started having it the internet starting feeling bleh. if you aren't bored out of your mind (even if you stay away from electronics and just go outside) then yeah you most likely don't have it.
>>84348488Well, I guess I'm gonna fucking kill myself then
>>84348509why thoughbiet
>>84348375we know very little about what causes this shit but Anhedonia is far from being "le sad" and it's actually a real physical symptom. Anhedonia is probably caused by neuroinflammation The overlap with depression I believe is probably due to chronic stress>>84348310What this anon said is interesting because we know SSRI's can induce anhedonia, so serotonin is involved and serotonin is very important for gut management. This is probably where the relation between people with poor dietary habits and depression is.
>>84348486>I think it's stupid to not label whatever I had as depression because all of the other symptoms were still present.I'm curious as to what you mean by this, anon. And I don't ask this in a debatebro kind of way or anything like that because obviously there's other kinds of depression besides the clinical one (I feel like I should've clarified this, apologies) and I don't want across as dismissive about what you are experiencing, but I am curious about the symptoms you hint to.
>>84348068Do everything you can physically and socially to not be depressed and if you still are at the end then seek help
>>84348068only normies can get depression
