What was the most intelligent person you've met like? How did their intelligence show?
>>84460161i have never met a person id call outstanding, intelligence wise... or i have never noticed. maybe i am too stupid to realize
>>84460161I'm the most intelligent person I've ever met. My intelligence shows by being able to prove to myself that I exist, which other people cannot do due to their inferior intelligence.
how long do you have to know such a person and how close do you have to be for it to count? there was a guy on a board i used to frequent that had two phds (but he was a bit older than me so we didn't really interact much), and there was another guy on the same board who had a copypasta about how intellectual he was (i was constantly glazing this guy but he kept giving me the cold shoulder)
one of my math professorsshe was just literally genius idk, she could think about any problem for like 5 seconds and have a rational answer to it no matter what it was. the government would call her up to ask for help on their computers
My childhood friend's sister. She's the one who introduced me to anime, 4chan, memes, um, the first person I saw play an MMO which was Ultima Online, first person I heard masturbate, she was a lot of firsts but mostly she was the first person who had openly talked about life being a simulation and this was after The Matrix came out I believe or it just did, but she had like quantum physics books and shit, college, full tuition. I actually have no idea what she does these days, I think I last saw her like 15 years ago at least.I don't know if anyone I met after her had more raw intelligence, maybe one of my teachers or something, because she was basically a child prodigy in terms of intellect, most witty woman I've ever met period.
>>84460207Just long enough for you to think they were the smartest.>>84460328You should try and see what she's up to these days.
>>84460599>Just long enough for you to think they were the smartest.ok, well then it's probably one of my professors from college or uni
>>84460161Outside of like Jane Street or STEM at an ivy meeting actually high IQ ppl is like, fucking impossible. Anyone high IQ is somewhere better than where you're at, or they're a washup loser watching autistic shit about radios at 3 am and you'd never know they're smart if you met them.
>>84460161I once knew someone who was always talking about economics and politics. He was also great at math. Would you consider that being 'intelligent'?
>>84460819I want to know what you consider intelligent.
>>84460161I don't really get to know people so I never know how intelligent they actually are
>>84460161In what way? Like pure IQ? He was an insufferable, narcissistic sperg who nobody wanted to be around. He was an outlier though, and we're still pretty sure he took the IQ test multiple times (it was an officially administered in-person test at a psychologist's office, not some online junk like MENSA or worse). Most of the high testers I know (including myself, tested in the 140s on the Stanford-Binet, effortless 99th percentiles on every standardized test, perfect SAT, etc) are chill. Coincidentally none of them are women, and we range from right-leaning libertarian to full blown far right, though most choose not to publicly identify ourselves politically for obvious reasons.
>>84460876>high IQ >thinks politics are realI always knew IQ was a meme
>>84460827In my book, if you have common sense and don't let others influence you, you're definitely intelligent. ( -.-)
>>84460161Probably hitler. (I met him spiritually).
>>84460161I've met several people tested IQs over 140. One is a piece of shit who bullied me. Another was a normie girl. Also an old man who was an alcoholic and extremely abusive. People with high IQ are interesting to talk to, but it really says nothing about their character.
I met a female angel. The thing has like a million IQ and manipulates me for fun. She is frightening, or she manipulates me to teach me a lesson. She put Christian ultra fundie-ism into IRL and i'm crying inside, it's so miserable. I'm hoping it's a lesson to never trust Bible over her again.
>>84461038I figured.I think high IQ people eventually discover everything is just about hedonism and dopamine and resort to becoming bullying drug addicts before offing themselves. Because those are the two funnest things to do next to sex.
>>84460161Hes good at math and learns new concepts very easily, but gets overstimulated and doesn't like socializing too much. Though iq test just tests for things like your brains ram and cpu. Its useful, but if you are lacking in things like emotional intelligence then you can become victim to things like believing politics is real and not just a theater for evil richfags to pit people against eachother and make money so they can enslave everyone. They're good for being inventors and subordinates though.
there are different types of smarts. knowledge, arithmetic, creativity, etc.but i knew this turboautist who would absorb information like a sponge. he enjoyed a lively debate, but it was as though nobody was ever on his level (and he knew that). he wasn't a Comic Book Guy style asshole: he could admit when he was wrong or had gaps in his knowledge. but then his response was to go away and read 3+ books on the subject. you could dedicate your whole life to the property market, he'd learn it all in a week (and be correct about it, not just some dude bluffing because he's skimmed the surface).socially and romantically, he did really well because he was good-looking and people saw him as this quirky Sherlock Holmes type guy. he still had autistic blind spots e.g. he AUTOMATED HIS ENTIRE JOB because he got bored and learned programming one month. his manager had to explain that if he automated HIS job, he'd be putting other people in the same role out of work. so then he just sat at work reading all day.have any of you guys ever met someone like this? are the non-Chris-Chan autists secretly aliens studying us lesser beings? ;__;
>>84460161My dadHas a master's degree in physics, knows a bunch of programming languages, built a geiger counter (somehow). Every morning I see him on physicsforums talking about gluons or whatever the Hell. He basically knows everything there is to know in the fields of engineering, physics, astronomy, mathematics, etc. He also has a special / obsessive interest in Neanderthals and proto-hominids.Makes me wonder if IQ is heritable, because if it is I shouldn't be as retarded as I am. Oh well.
>>84460935you might want to get checked out for schizophrenia, bro.
>>84461050sex isn't even that fun. it's ok, and it can be great if you're rolling on MDMA with someone you care about, but overall it's like maybe my 5th favorite hedonistic thing to do behind video games, drugs, food, and exercise, except none of those things come with the enormous downside of having to interact with women to participate.
>>84461157i hate this shit so much. i'm not a huge gamer but people talk about games having a 'loop', like they're designed to keep you engaged, whether you win, lose, whatever. you can finish up for the day and feel satisfied, there's no 'comedown'.all stimulants turn miserable pretty quickly, and the most loving sex comes and goes, then you're stuck with the other person. sex itself can even be anxiety-inducing, it's stressful, you're trying to perform well.why the fuck is everything like this? i currently feel bloated and miserable for eating bread and chocolate.
>>84461120just throwing it out there, don't get offendedwhat if you were adopted and he didn't tell you?
>>84461412Could be possibleOr my mom cheated on him Maybe some sort of head injury in early childhood I can't remember Oh well.
>>84460161He was honestly just better cognitively. I met him in HS and i actually took a year twice because i prepared for its exams the previous year (finished 12th grade's curriculum while i was still in 11th grade) and he genuinely smoked me in every single subject even though it was his first time. I had spent 100s of hours memorizing things he got instantly and he was far better than me at all of them.Basically his brain just worked on a completely different level than a normgroid like me. He was pretty arrogant though and a bit of a dick but i can see why he'd be like that
>>84460200i wanna hump that lil boy pussy of yours...
>>84460161People get weird about intelligence and IQ, especially people who live online 24/7. I think it's because for many, being "smart" is the only thing you have positively going for your self-image. You were never athletic or cool so the one thing you had to show your parents or be praised about is how intelligent you are. That kind of thinking got to me, I had a severe insecurity about how intelligent I was so I became extremely argumentative and pursued subjects that made me feel smart like programming, math, random science topics, languages. Anything to make me feel better than someone else. Looking back, it was extremely cringey and sad. You can read a few books and learn to speak eloquently and articulate your thoughts well and people will think you're the smartest person in the room. It's hard to accurately read someone else's intelligence because of that. I've seen "smart" people fall for obvious ragebait and political bullshit. I've seen "smart" people be arrogant and conceited which is low IQ behavior. Truthfully, there's hard limits to human cognition. Even at the top levels, it really isn't all that great. There's only a small difference between a dumb person and a smart person, if it was actually substantial the world would be going somewhere.
>>84460935KEK, thisand now he resorts to gaslightingits always the same with these golems
>>84460161Tenured professor of biology in the UC system. He had multiple 300+ page Bio 300 books memorized. He could get through what should be a two hour lecture on genetic chemistry in 45 minutes without checking notes. He'd fucking rocket through a lecture, whip out a Baby Ruth, eat it, then say "any questions?" while everyone was frantically trying to write down his chalkboard protein drawings. His memory and recall, even in his 50s was so far beyond mine it made me (BS computer science) look like a dimwit trying to solve 9 + 4 on his fingers in comparison.
