dunno Crealy. i suspect Flamingo Land has a certain nostalgic appeal to HelperLad and myself, although you always hear how they took X out, or Y became a Fortnite ride or something.

used to sneak down in the car boot with my cousins so we didn't have to pay for entry (there's a caravan park we stayed in). there aren't really many thrill rides or great roller coasters* like Alton Towers, but the park itself is quite comfy. zoo part of it is nice, go see the meerkats and that.

* this Sik coaster opened a few years ago but it looks a bit boring. just a few drops and loops, pretty standard inversion coaster. do cool gimmicks like Nemesis or Oblivion pls

Sik isn't even new, it's a clone of Colossus at Thorpe Park that was in storage for nearly a decade after a park in Brazil bought it and ran out of money to build it. Flamingo Land bought it on the cheap because they're too tight to spend on anything decent.

Kinda comfy tbf, it warms your inner thighs.

I have a distinct memory of doing the laundry, and washing my 2nd set of bed covers when the weather was warm, and drying them outside.

So I took the bed covers off the bed and put them in the laundry basket. Had a shower, washed my hair, and got all nice and clean.

Turns out it was all a lie. I never did the laundry. I really don't understand, because I have a complete memory of doing it, I remember a spider I found when hanging the sheet out on the washing line. It must have been a vivid dream.

So now I've just had to take the dirty bed covers out of the smelly washing basket and put them back on the bed.

I feel that we have taken acting as a profession as being more celebrated than we should for the type of person who is skilled at falsehoods.
Massaging their egos in this way has promoted a culture of stupidity in my eyes and should be punished by whippings and excommunications before the entire industry is AI and the rotters can slink away without the punishment they have deserved, I'm particularly talking about Hollywood.

interesting thoughts, lad. it is pure idolatry, i get WHY it can be a bit of fun even if we all accept it's fake. but it's also an entire industry preying on people for profit.

the double-whammy of social media and AI have revealed that
1. celebrities are generally stupid people
and
2. 'artisans' are not immune to technology.

if we're meant to view acting as a skill (which it is, and i respect) then not enough credit goes to dodgy estate agents or blokes selling you meat from a van. they're running rings round the toffs trained at the Old Vic.

i watched one Mr Beast thing out of curiosity. it was a group of YouTubers in a giant box who had to solve puzzles or be eliminated, the winner got to choose money for a charity.

i'll admit, it was entertaining and had solid production values. but this would have been reality gameshow shovelware in the 2000s. some random American programme on Sky One.

how is that the 'best of' YouTube? with the budgets and talent involved, couldn't they make original programming that's up there with the best telekinos? no BBC rules or Netflix mandates to hold them back?

Oh just an update lads from the thing I posted a few days ago: I do not have diphtheria. False alarm.

Turns out the person who said they were diagnosed were diagnosed by an incompetent trainee pharmacist (who also did the exact wrong thing you're supposed to do if you suspect someone has it jfc). That person had strep throat, whereas I just had a regular cold. It was a pretty bad one but definitely not diphtheria bad.
>>
>>84491620
Shit sounds rough lad, what is it about the nose that makes little things like that insanely disproportionately painful? Like even little spots on the skin around that little curve that nestles next to your nostril, holy fuck it's mental how painful they are to squeeze.
>>
>>84491664
something i really noticed, and i've clocked it about actual Netflix drama series recently, is that it didn't feel like it had an overall narrative.

reality shows are known for manipulating the truth to spin a narrative, some contestant has had a 'journey', but the Battle Royale Squid Games Box In Real Life For $1,000,000 didn't even bother.

starting to see what people mean when they say everything is just a series of TikTok clips. it holds my attention LESS.

great news lad! what was it the pharmacist did?

i suggested one of those throat anaesthetic sprays, even if your cold has cleared up i still recommend getting one in. they're a godsend on those days where you have throat pain and simply wish to no longer feel.
>>
>>84491712
They were a trainee and probably just overreacted. They saw the white spots in that person's strep throat and thought it was the white membrane forming like you get in diphtheria. Thing is, they gave them antibiotics and sent them home, but if you do actually have diphtheria then you need to do contact tracing because it's crazy infective and fatal in 10% of cases.

you can do it by feel if they have the pointed tips rather than the flat ones. if you feel/grasp around at random, you can clear out your entire nose while sat watching a film.

if you have drinker's hands or weakman's arms, use two hands while resting your elbows on a table or desk. there'll be some magic angle where you can yank that frigger out with no fuss (your mam might not know it).

got a bolognese cooking lads. should be ready in 4 hours or so. sadly, I did my back in when in the supermarket so now I'm hobbling around the kitchen occasionally stirring my ragu (not a euphemism)
>>
>>84492758
I love making a proper bolognese with the full carrot + celery + onion mix and really cooking it down for hours with a cartouche, but goddamn it's a lot of effort.

These days I mostly do bargain bin bolognese:
>brown minced beef in pan, salt and pepper
>sweat onions and fry in garlic until fragrant
>add tomato paste, cook through
>add in can of chopped tomatoes
>season (garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, basil)
>reduce by half
>add starchy pasta water to re-hydrate closer to serving
It's good and serviceable but definitely a tier under a proper bolognese

Truly one of the greatest policy proposals ever. No migrant detention facilities in Reform constituencies or Reform council areas. Out of the remaining areas they will prioritise Green constituencies and Green councils.
https://x.com/JackHadders/status/2051031658971734286

Virtue signalling is underpriced. Psychos understand this and act accordingly. Psychos are entirely selfish and they grasp that there is infinite upside to virtue signalling and zero downside i.e. there is no expectation that they will ever have to foot the bill. If you increase the price of virtue signalling to market rates, that is, if you have to pay for and house them yourself then the misaligned incentives and the supply-demand differential resolves.

These psychotically selfish progressives will then sod off to scam society in some other way and the game will begin anew. This is the eternal meta game of cat and mouse we are obliged to play, understanding that making them live up to their own standards is key to winning.
>>
>>84492874

>>84492874
This is great. It's exactly the sort of policy you want to see from a generally right leaning party because it shows they understand the actual mechanisms of power and pragmatically and confidently uses them, rather than a party like the tories who would never 'stoop to that level' or whatever, or a party like restore who prefer more gimmicky policies, something like making sure the detention facilities have bible readings or whatever the fuck.

Make the people advocating for the destruction of the country feel the consequences first and hardest.
>>
>>84492874
>>84492892
>>84492938

>>
>>84492942
Yes of course, but the point of the policy is not to inflict actual asylum seekers on a population, everyone except the very top few readily accepts that this is a disastrous thing akin to releasing a virus on a local area. The point is to make everyone freak out and argue about why having asylum seekers merely just near them, even if secure, is a bad thing. It will also likely bait out some Green retards into assaulting police and causing a ruckus and stuff which is good optics and won't achieve anything material so it's another win. That's why it's good policy.

Go ahead Greens, call the bluff, why don't you want a migrant detention facility in your town???

windfarms, nuclear power plants and endless solar panels all over reform counties
>>
>>84492959
>nuclear power plants
I have a suggestion. We build one in either Birmingham, Bradford, or Rochdale, then if the worst should happen then it is contained the shitholes only.
>>
>>84492959
I'll take the nuclear plants, not sure why we'd even need windfarms and solar panels if we have nuclear.
>>
>>84492945
What do you think his first post will be?
>>
>>84492976
It's criminal and stupid that people are scared of nuclear power simply because the USSR shit the bed with Chernobyl, these things are way less likely to happen in 2026 and beyond.
>>
>>84493016
It's not even that the average person making the decisions is 'scared' or nuclear power or whatever, that's still a relatively fringe concern found in the left leaning slice of the population. The real problem is that the ruling class are literally incapable of long-term planning and are incompetent when attempting to do anything. They have regulated nuclear power out of existence in this country. Remember that clip of Nick Clegg, all the way back in 2010 arguing AGAINST building nuclear plants because 'they won't come online until 2021'. The level of fucking retardation required to argue that stance should, in theory, preclude you from holding office. Yet here we are.

Try this lad:
Reload systemd manager configuration
>sudo systemctl daemon-reload
Then enable ratbagd to run at boot
>sudo systemctl enable ratbagd.service
Then either start the service or reboot
>sudo systemctl start ratbagd.service
This *should* make ratbagd start on every boot and apply the saved piper configuration for your mouse.

Let me know if it doesn't work.

Me? Not had a bird since I was 19 (29 now), Why? Well, the bird I had (of 3+ years) was getting on my nerves texting me all the time at work and in an autistic fit of rage I ended it with her. Never understood women since and don't want the hassle of some clingy person needing my attention 24/7.

OK off to bed. Still having dreams where something is trying to kill me (like lot's entities trying to kill neo, I', not neo more oh no), but good news I killed one of em last night. Was mad (not mad for me over the last 3 months), was confronted in an alleyway (a place in my town I dream of often, but not the same, if you know what I mean) and grabbed one, then somebody said "there's a camera!" and I stuck my finger up to the camera and point blanked some guy in the forehead.

cropped this to the 1 digit (hope that's OK with you lads) and between 2am (left) and 3am (right) there was no change. maybe it was naive to assume i'd use a single kilowatt in that time, but there's also a 1/10th window next to it, hasn't shifted even one tick.

Over 625,618 households receive more in benefits than the average household takes home after tax. So-called "super-claimers" received more than 32,300 GBP in welfare payouts, despite a nominal 'benefits caps'.

Keep in mind also that 32,300 is the average salary, not the median, so realistically these super-claimer households are getting more in benefits than around 55% of the working population.
