I think that there is a chance that the person doesn't offend again, but people who actually get a prison sentence have done something similar before. I believe in rehabilitatiom for things lkke stealing. I think that the current system is too soft on the death penalty and forced labor, the latter of which should be mandatory in all prisons. But, with regards to the principle of judgment on a case by vase basis to who deserves the death penalty and who gets prison time and a possibility of reinsertion into society is good. I fucking hate politics. And people obsessed with politics are ALWAYS mentally ill. They don't even realize how their mental illness drives their political opinions and thus are incapable of critical thinking, while at the same time they believe they are the only people who aren't "normies" or "brainwashed". I dream of a life in which the only politics I have to worry about are that of my local neighborhood and most importantly, my family. I just think Marx's theory is akin to the people who used to believe in and do science based on the idea that the world was flat. He doesn't seem to ever criticize his own methods, however, especially how reliant on hindsight they are and thus basically useless for the present.
