I used to think I was pretty safe in Toronto until I looked into the history of disasters here and found a hurricane had ripped through back in the 50s. Or the way a nearby power plant was unintentionally built on a fault line and in theory it will survive a quake but there is still the risk it doesn't an affects the water supply.
