If you guys have 25 min to spare, this video explains it well. I'm not religous, I was feeling gnosticism, but I wasn't wholly convinced, christianity is something I experienced as a child, as my secondary school was a church of England school (I am English).
Basically it says that good people get punished for their sins while on earth, because everyone does sin, and bad people are abandoned by god so won't be getting in heaven, so their "reward" is given to them on earth, while they will get punished for eternity. Makes sense to me, but then a question pops up, so why did jesus "pay" for our sins when he came to earth?
Not exactly a straight forward easy subject, but that's life I guess.

Doesn't it seem kind of petty to punish someone for eternity for finite transgressions? There must be more to it, like that people choose to keep doing bad things even after dying or something. Idk.

The people that do really bad things constantly shouldn't be punished? If somebody chooses to do bad things then there should be repercussions.

Yes, they should be punished, but no, not for eternity, unless they commit an eternity of crimes.

Think about it like this. If you caught somebody littering, do they deserve to go to jail for it for the rest of their existance? Or do they deserve to spend like a month doing community service cleaning up litter? Which punishment here suits the transgression?

I'd be miserable in heaven knowing what was happening to those in hell. I have a hard time believing it's that simple why people go to hell. It seems nonsensical and cruel.

Not comparable to say a serial paedophile that destroys multiple children's lives.

For now. Just for now. It's going to get worse... and then become better than it's ever been.

It's comprable. You just have to scale it.

According to you, the right punishment for serial pedophilia that destroys multiple children's lives(which are only 100 years max) is to suffer the equivalent of 1 million destroyed children's lives and then do it again for all of eternity? Not even human court rooms are so cruel. The longest sentence yet was for 141,078 years, and even that would be infinitely less cruel to actually live through than an eternity.

How is this not just wrath in the place of justice? Hence why it's gotta be more complicated than just what people do here on Earth.

Hell isn't real. People twisted the imagery used of an ancient place for waste disposal where stuff went to be burned, destroyed and never return. The key is that what goes in will never return, with the fire illustrating the inability to regenerate. Thinks of weeds being thrown in and unable to somehow survive and pop up again.

>>84536513
Those feelings are understandable, but it doesn't mean some punishments won't take place for a long, long time. One reason the final fate of people is left to God is the ability to met out punishment in ways humans can't.
It's like how a young child can't punish their siblings nearly as well as as their parents can - who have more power, influence, strength, etc. Or you can liken it to the way most anons don't have the skills of good interrogators, security personnel and other competent combatants.
People call on God to set things right but now also to punish as they see fit? To create a place and grant sinners who do not repent immortality or regeneration? With that time and power, God will just met out appropriate punishment and eventually we will forget about those who remained determined to be wicked, no one having to spend time creating instruments of torture, maintain them, check and see that they are still proving effective.

Humans put the sentence of a million children's lives on the paedophile. God deals with the soul, they don't work together.

What is your suggestion on how this should be handled?
>>
>>84536267
Im always a bit skeptical about these type of videos to be quite honest. Anything regarding jesus i much rather read directly from the bible rather than other sources. I'll watch it with a grain of salt though. Thanks for sharing it anon. Have a blessed day

My suggestion would be just to leave it to God. I do not believe Him to be wrathful or overly cruel in judgement. Just try your best in this life, but never get tricked into thinking you're beyond Him or that He's abandoned you for your sins. You can always go home. It's a choice.

It would hurt. The road would be long. You would be punished, but maybe the reason somone like Satan would still be in hell is because he's still digging the hole deeper for himself because he's still so proud. Or maybe something else. The way I understand hell, though, and how it's told to me by other humans, makes no sense.

You can rest assured God's got this. He has far greater wisdom than us.
For all you know he could ask if anyone, once all has been set right, would volunteer for punishing those determined to do what is bad. You may get the chance to punish the devil itself for all time.
Let's say that offer was extended... but in a world finally free from wicked people who in the right mind wants to spend time being the universe's most powerful warden tending to evil beings day after day?
Remember the future belongs to the righteous and you could be spending your time with good folks instead.

if someone makes such transgressionss in a finite existence how wold they behave in an infinite one?
>>
>>84536886
I agree, but still if somebody does something on earth there should be repercussions.
>>84536971
I agree that spiritually we can't do anything, I don't think we'll get to fight the devil, we just fight things on earth/this realm, but most of that seems to be a mental fight.
