my family showed me this film and i spent the entire runtime thinking it was actually a comedy/farce and waiting for the punchlines. when it ended and i finally realized it was supposed to be emotional and dramatic i couldn't believe it. absolutely flabbergasted. every scene has the air of an absurd sketch, like the directors are glancing at you with that twitching smile people have when they're trying to keep from laughing. still don't understand how anyone could take it seriously.
