>can't sleep because stress is pumping me full of adrenaline
>can't solve the stress because the depression is exhausting and the initial burst of energy fades rapidly

I'm hoping that the global economy collapses by the end of the year. That would give me a better excuse for my current situation.

Do push ups till you cant. Thats what i do, and the fact that it hurts makes it work with my depression, it feels self destructive without like actually scarring me
>>
>>84555945
what do you do after the pushups though, just get back in bed and doomgoon on r9k?

Beta blockers, they physically prevent adrenaline from interacting with the receptors in your heart so you don't get the sympathetic activation. After that, work on keeping a consistent bed schedule, and try to plan in advance not to eat into your sleep hours and derrail it for weeks.

But most of all you need a cause. Something, ideally someone to do it for and to hold you accountable. It's too convenient to fail yourself, make excuses or not and never progress, but an external influence adds a lot of pressure that helps you get through and start working on fixing yourself.

i need a non-prescription solution that isn't alcohol

Do you think you would enjoy listening to the sounds of nature or a cityscape with smooth jazz to fall asleep to? Just wondering since there are some videos that have helped me sleep before.
Someone mentioned pushups and squats are an alternative that can definitely take a lot out of you. But I also know what it's like to not be able to fall asleep until exhaustion gets me.

Sounds more like the sort of things that gets the mind amped up than relaxed, but sometimes familiarity does help relax regardless of genre.
But since you're not the sort to have a complete aversion to sounds while falling asleep I'll post what helped me in the past and maybe they'll do you some good.
https://www.youtube.com/@GoobieAndDoobie/videos - sort by oldest and there are many videos that are just natural scenes filmed, or a silent walk with the dog

One has the music while the other is just the rain and city sounds
Aside from that, what are the causes of the stress and depression?

What are you stressed about? Write down everything you can and maybe post it here so we can offer advice. Keeping all that shit in your head is what's causing anguish. If you can at least see your problems on paper you can begin analyzing them and symbolically put them down in order to rest.
>I got this killa up inside of me
>I can't talk to my mother so I talk to my diary
>I'm goin' off on the deep end
>I found myself face-to-face with myself while I'm sleepin'
