nah. hearing voices makes me feel confused and dissociated from my mind. i can't imagine slipping into different states of consciousness while awake. that sounds hellish.

Imagine being able to go to work and disassociating over 8 hours then ur home. Wouldnt that be awesome

The problem with dissociation is that you can't do anything while you're in it so you constantly have to keep locking in even as you find yourself slipping. It's exhausting in a way that doesn't really show on your face. Eventually it just wears you down.

This shit always seems like a larp. The way they talk about it in a meta detached way

No if you have DID you lose consciousness and it comes back afterwards
>>
>>84577232
i don't think that's always true. i think some of them have a sense of the mind still being inside of them but one gets control of the body at a time

DID is a fake disorder for malingering fat middle class western white women who want to feel special.

DID is sometimes real but specifiacally caused by a narrow range of circumstances during infancy. Basically the torture of babies causes it.

it is real and we obtained documentation on the fracturing of the Default Mode Network and the Salience Network in a paper that was published in 2022 (or 2023 i can't remember).

the problem is that so many people lie about having it. the only way it can be measured is with an fMRI. the study i read performed fMRIs on female victims of child rape and molestation (a population with extremely high rates of DID).

female brains are also measurably more likely to fracture because testosterone makes the brain so much more resistant to stress.

Can't therapists give people alter egos
>>
>>84577317
that's hypnosis which requires a susceptibility. Hypnosis is basically an induced dissociative state in which ideas are introduced into the mind. In the same manner, subjecting children to abuse can cause personality formation to become split between conditions in the household. This leads to the personality developing into multiple modes. It shows up on eeg scans that the brain waves are different. DID is a way crazier rabbit hole than people give it credit for.

I want this to happen to me since me now is so pathetic

i would experiment on you and try to induce it if we had irl connection. I've always wanted to be a nazi scientist. Fucking with people's heads and destroying their souls sounds really fun.

No.

It's not a larp, alters can develop conditions like diabetes and need insulin or they'll die.
I think it's demonic possession, like how people with tourettes - always, without fail - seem to have the soul of a malevolent dummy in their heads.
I think demons just find this shit funny, and that's as deep as it goes.
