Im currently learning to draw and I feel like it's useless venture anons. What will I get out of it but at same time watching myself get better is so satisfying. You can see progress in real time and that keeps me going

The theories and skills you get from drawing are abstractly useful whenever any sort of design is necessary

If you're drawing because you think it will earn you money or something, you're a fool.

Draw for the satisfaction, create things because it makes you happy. You either want to draw or you don't, it's that simple.

Your joy and cultivating the discipline to learn a skill isn't useless. Guaranteed to turn into something that nets you more resources? Who knows.
Even on 4chan people have started with art and later felt like making a game and put out something that did well on Steam (/agdg/ on /vg/ should still have that list).
Others put out their work/journey on social media and end up being invited to do a piece for a big series. Or because of being in the mindset of creating and illustrating it one day create an aesthetic/setting that really takes off.
It turns into their signature style or a series that they make art books of, maybe even making an animation or game based on it. I've seen that happen to a couple artists over time. Another who did fan art is now an art director at a game studio 6 years later.
So enjoy the journey and make the most of where you are, but who knows where you'll go someday because you got moving in the first place. I also know people who just love to draw and don't do commissions despite demand for it.
