I know that feel. I didn't mention it but I'm a guitarist too. Switching over to the metronome was prob one of the hardest things on guitar. I have heard of people saying they have been playing for years and still can't play to a metronome so you aren't alone.

just for fun mainly. i want to work in the music industry when im done with college and everything, but im not sure exactly whar i want to do yet. tbdesu preferably it would be something to do with playing guitar but im just not good enough for a job like that i dont think.

Lot's of counting exercises + doing it without counting. Drummers do these counting exercises all the time. You usually do these counting exercises without metronome first since it's hard, then do it to a metronome at a slow managable tempo.
One of the drummers on youtube I watched told me they still count for really difficult rhythms.

you mean like counting along to whatever you're playing? cuz thats another thing i struggle with, figuring out the count and what beat the note lands on. sometimes its easy but for things like the vocaroo i posted, i find it difficult to figure out what lands on the beat and what lands on the and. its even harder when its my own thing and not just something im learning.

kinda too late desu. i exhausted all my other options and the only college that would accept is a specalized that only teaches music. im considering being a sound engineer but from the little experience i have doing sound at gigs, it seems pretty difficult actually adjusting the mix and i wouldnt know what im doing. im fine setting up equipment and stuff tho. maybe i'll just go work in a music store or being like an instrument technician or something.

Btw can you tap the pulse of any music you hear? Most music is in 4/4 so in most songs you can count "1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4" etc etc.

yeah i find that pretty easy unless its in a weird time signature. the only thing i find difficult is telling the difference between things like 2/4 and 4/4, or 3/4 and 6/8
