i came up with this song on my guitar while i was fucking around. the vocaroo isnt that good cuz i kept messing it up and im too sick to care about getting it perfect, but its good enough for now. please give it a listen and tell mw what you think.https://voca.ro/1ljEmWlZ0EQV
>>84617206>please give it a listen and tell mw what you think. It's quite rough, but the musical idea is nice and genuineRemember to practice with a slow metronome though, there are some few awkard stops here and thereKeep it up Anon.
>>84617239thanks anon. i tried practicing it with a metronome but i kept messing up cuz i was focusing too much on the metronome and i got frustrated with it desu.
>>84617351I know that feel. I didn't mention it but I'm a guitarist too. Switching over to the metronome was prob one of the hardest things on guitar. I have heard of people saying they have been playing for years and still can't play to a metronome so you aren't alone. Why are you playing guitar Anon?
>>84617388yeah i figured. what did you do to get better at playing with a metronome? did you just brute force it until you got gud?>Why are you playing guitar Anon?just for fun mainly. i want to work in the music industry when im done with college and everything, but im not sure exactly whar i want to do yet. tbdesu preferably it would be something to do with playing guitar but im just not good enough for a job like that i dont think.
>>84617463>did you just brute force it until you got gud?Lot's of counting exercises + doing it without counting. Drummers do these counting exercises all the time. You usually do these counting exercises without metronome first since it's hard, then do it to a metronome at a slow managable tempo. One of the drummers on youtube I watched told me they still count for really difficult rhythms.>just for fun mainlyThen you probably should stay away from the music industry. Maybe find a band to play with or other people to do music with.
>>84617513>Lot's of counting exercisesyou mean like counting along to whatever you're playing? cuz thats another thing i struggle with, figuring out the count and what beat the note lands on. sometimes its easy but for things like the vocaroo i posted, i find it difficult to figure out what lands on the beat and what lands on the and. its even harder when its my own thing and not just something im learning.>Then you probably should stay away from the music industry.kinda too late desu. i exhausted all my other options and the only college that would accept is a specalized that only teaches music. im considering being a sound engineer but from the little experience i have doing sound at gigs, it seems pretty difficult actually adjusting the mix and i wouldnt know what im doing. im fine setting up equipment and stuff tho. maybe i'll just go work in a music store or being like an instrument technician or something.>Maybe find a band to play with or other people to do music with.too socially retarded for this unfortunately
>>84617622>you mean like counting along to whatever you're playing?Usually something that's already written down like tabs or music sheet.Btw can you tap the pulse of any music you hear? Most music is in 4/4 so in most songs you can count "1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4" etc etc.if you aren't able to yet it's fine I wasn't able to from the get go.>and the only college that would accept is a specalized that only teaches musicI see. I think most people who work in music work as teachers, also I fell in a similar kind of pathway in life lul. Maybe fate ordained us to spend our lives doing music. I don't know much about gigs, being a sound engineer or much work related to music to be honest so I can't help you with that>too socially retarded for this unfortunatelySame, I wanted to try to play with other people, but I'm too shy and too autistic for it.
>>84617659>Btw can you tap the pulse of any music you hear? Most music is in 4/4 so in most songs you can count "1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4" etc etc. yeah i find that pretty easy unless its in a weird time signature. the only thing i find difficult is telling the difference between things like 2/4 and 4/4, or 3/4 and 6/8>Maybe fate ordained us to spend our lives doing music. lol maybe>Same, I wanted to try to play with other people, but I'm too shy and too autistic for it.desu my tutor is trying to make me form a band but i have no friends at college and i find it difficult to talk to people there so i dont think it'll ever happen.
>>84617859>yeah i find that pretty easyThat's good, that's already some foundation for you. I struggle with weirder time signatures as well, I haven't practiced them as much. Feeling the pulse is prob the most important part>desu my tutor is trying to make me form a band but i have no friends at college and i find it difficult to talk to people there so i dont think it'll ever happen.I see. Maybe you should try anyway. You wanna be friends on discord or something? having someone to talk about music would be nice, but I'm not gonna force you
>>84617907sorry for the late reply anon, i was busy.>You wanna be friends on discord or something?sorry anon, im not really good at talking to people on discord. at least not in the same way i talk to people on here, cuz i talk differently on discord. and i find it easier to talk on here because i have more time to think about what i want to say and make sure i dont say anything retarded. i've tried adding people from here on discord before and each time i just end up ghosting them because i dont know what to say and i leave it too long to reply. im just too retarded i guess desu.
