im the same way, op! im in a really happy, long-term committed relationship with the love of my life, but when hes away i get sooo sad. i dont tell him because we all need our space sometimes, and i realize my clinginess could become unhealthy if i let it influence my actions. good on u for recognizing which behaviors are healthy vs unhealthy. ive found that when that feeling gets bad that channeling the energy into preparing something for him to come home to helps me feel better! i like to bake cookies or brownies, get a new lingerie set/toy to try, draw him something, make his favorite meal, or write him a sweet letter.
