Every time something here gains momentum it is siphoned off and given it's own board. /b/ with a filter is cool as a concept, but the shunting of posters is an interesting problem. Generals always suck, but when they get their own space they leave a them shaped hole that was previously a part of board culture.
The site in general is a glowop, they want to wrangle everyone and keep them on the plantation since it would be dangerous or something if the users had their own space. Uncompromised alts get cheesed and swatted. Keeping everyone here then botting the crossposts, screenshot threads, and engagement treadmills they get to control what is actually discussed and more importantly what is seen and thought about. Make a thread about ecology, conservation, alternative agriculture, radical agragrarianism, environmentalism, however you frame it that shits going straight to page ten because it's not on the whitelisted topics list. Censorship is unneeded because it's pissing in an ocean of piss.

/lit/, /sci/, /his/, all boards from here. My point is posters post in threads other than the generals. When the boards were created and users left so did some of their perspectives, specifically the posts and threads they made that were not in/about the generals.
Maybe it's a containment board effect, /lgbt/ might shift some of the gay shit. But to lose them all results in a less diverse ecosystem here. Fags might have interesting things to say when not talking about dicks and hormones. /r9k/ got raided when the other site purged undesirables and the incels never bothered or cared to assimilate, they just claimed it as their own. The new boards caused a kind of brain drain. If everything discussed here eventually gets it's own board except incel shit then the natural outcome is /r9k/ becomes the de facto incel board.

Is the conclusion not reasonable if, to use an extreme example, claim there is only incelshit posted if nothing except incelshit is posted? Does it not make sense there are less threads about literature as a result of them getting their own board? Should a /lit/ poster go from /r9k/ being their main board and instead making /lit/ their main board, I believe that as a result of them browsing /r9k/ less often they also post on /r9k/ less often. Likewise applies for the other boards and their posters. A board can be influenced as much by loss of specific kinds of users as much as it can be influenced by an influx of a specific kind of user. When combined the effect is synergistic.
