i am willing to be a stay at home housewife when i give birth to a child and until they are school aged, like 5 years old. then i want to work again to contribute to the household because i don't think children require 24/7 care after a certain age. and i would get bored being home at that point. if you keep handholding a child especially after past kindergarten age, they will grow up to be incompetent and autistic.

i thought this counts as being a housewife and seems reasonable. but recently i hard arguments with some people online saying "WHAAAT, ARE YOU GOING TO ABANDON YOUR CHILD AT PRIMARY SCHOOL?" like what? do you really think a kid past kindergarten age needs mom to be next to them constantly?

Having children in 2026 is insane
>>
Fuck that. I want to be a house wife.

i didn't think of you as a loser but you are free to identify as such i guess
>>84646071
why? people had kids during much worse times
>>84646076
fuck what? did i ask if you want to be a housewife you narcissistic hoe? i asked how long we have to be one

I think the idea is you would be doing the housework while kids are away and preparing dinner for when everyone comes home. but these days a lot of women don't do that and sit on their ass all day glued to their phones.
also this day in age it's hard to live on one person's salary so your plan is probably the most reasonable. you would have to work something out with your husband for how the housework is going to get done (probably could split it, and once the kids are a bit older it's good for them to help too) and a lot of schools will let out well before 5PM, part time work might be the best option.
overall I'd rate this plan 7/10 if you want to work full time and 9/10 for part time, at least until kids are older, 13+ probably. Good idea, well above average, you would probably make a decent mother.

>why?
Everything is becoming more expensive and everything is getting worse. You're sadistic if you're bringing children into this world based on vibes when you know that you can't guarantee them an equal or better life than the one you had.

it's all about timing in my opinion. you should practice batch cooking. you also should teach your kids some age-appropriate level of chores like being able to clean their own room, how to run the dishwasher or how to reheat a meal. i think there will be time to do all necessary chores and also work at the same time. it doesn't take as much time as people say.
>>

true, but 5 seems a bit young for them to do anything really useful beyond making their bed and picking up after themselves. there would have to be a transition period imo, which is why I suggested part time until the kids are mostly independent. this of course greatly depends on the kids since they all tend to mature a different rates. I think the main diver for full vs part time is when you think the kid can safely manage the house alone for a few hours after school, assuming it let's out earlier than work. Not sure I would fully trust a 7 year old to reliably shut the gas off on the stove after making a snack. They tend to be distracted very easily, particularly these new generations. I supposed you could try to raise them without the brainrot ADHD content.
Fuck man, I really wanted to be a parent one day
>>
>>84646049
It's reasonable to give kids a bit of independence once they're old enough to go to school, but it's also insane to voluntarily wage slave out of boredom.
Is employment really the only thing you can imagine doing with your time?

I were peeling and cooking potatoes when I was 5. I was washing dishes by 4. No that's not too early for responsibilities, children used to go work in mines by their 7th birthday.
>>
>>84646049
5 is maybe a bit harsh, especially for girls. At 10, I'd ship them off to private school and be done with them. They can return during the holidays.
>>

>why? people had kids during much worse times
no, not like this
>>
>>84646049
Well what you said sounds reasonable. One thing is that woman can work part time or could make money from home, a woman near my village makes some banger cakes at her house and sells them. Another thing that might play into when to start working is if the husband makes a lot of money, but then again gaining some work experience and some extra cash for the rainy days is never a bad thing.

Modern technology/society ensures any feminine duties are optional, giving women max time for leisure.
>Childcare
Tablet/Phone with an internet connection is all you need.
>Food
Frozen food or doordash if you don't feel like cooking at all.
>Money
Either a HR tier fake job that pays six figures, or a betabuxx husband you can divorce for $$$ if he steps out of line.

>then i want to work again to contribute to the household
The chances you have a career that could contribute a significant portion of the yearly income of the household are extremely low, so I wouldn't accept this. It's just vanity. Your valuable contribution is making the home a comfortable and welcoming place for me and the children, something I couldn't do with any amount of money. If you feel underutilized, let's have another child.
>>
Not me. I'm not going back to work. I like being a housewife.
>>
My wife wants to work, but I will never let her. She will be a housewife for life. She will also have our 3rd kid. And she will come to love that she did. She just doesn't know it yet.

Advice for future wives: being submissive and obeying your husband is the key to a happy marriage. Anyone can find a bitchy independent woman, and only cucks settle for one. Stand out and be a good submissive wife if you want a good husband.

I don't really think there's anything wrong with that or the logic OP.
Maybe not a 5 year old, but an 9 or 10 year old should be decently self sufficient

Lol

Nothing wrong with that in theory as long as you or your husband still have time in your schedules to be in your child's life as someone they can turn to. At a very young age they will still be very dependent on you, but if you happened to work a day shift while they were at school or even into the early evening I don't think that would be bad for the child. Otherwise if your husband works days and you work nights, same thing. Some parental figure should be available for them in their free time, raising children in front of YVs and computers when they get out of school is what fucks a lot of them up as they get older. Then again most kids are glued to some decide and have been for at least one generation now so, idk maybe it's fine. Also worth considering most children need glasses at younger and younger ages due to those same devices, so out of care for the kid it could be better to ignore what the majority of children are being raised like, holding off on some devices a bit longer may risk isolating them from their peers but improve their health.

more than half of working married women have an affair at least once while working
>>
>>84646049
Why do you want to work? Work sucks butthole.
>>
>>84646679
you cannot rely on these alternatives. you give a kid an ipad and they will end up fucked up. you raise a kid on doordash and they will end up obese.
>>84646705
i will have 1-2 kids but even if you have more, she can just go back to work when they are all grown
>>84646997
lol i am not a fucking gold digger, i'm not looking for a rich husband so i could definitely make a valuable contribution. you don't need to be home 24/7 to make it comfortable and welcoming.
>>84647156
how am i going to teach math? or anything academically important? homeschooling is a meme and raises autistic socially retarded kids. if your kids were raised well at home, public school isn't going to ruin them.
>>
nice larp but to add my two cents its better to go back to work when theyre in middle school. for the money and also to not just become a lazy bum. if u can be sure u wont be lazy during unemployment then do that then
