In my opinion Berserk 1997 is the best piece of Medieval fantast media ever created. You don't have to read the manga, but everyone should watch these 25 episodes of absolute perfection.

It's all in the Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, The Children of Hurin, Beren and Luthien, The Fall of Gondolin, and the HoME. But just because you haven't read it doesn't mean it's not there.Also, Tolkien never said that the fantasy setting had to be constrained only for children. The only reason why the Hobbit is so childish is because it was supposed to be a standalone story, written for Tolkien's kids, it's an anomaly relative to the rest of his writings.

Stiff animations, low frames in general, coloring errors, low detailed drawings, still shots lasting several seconds. The voice acting and sound track are solid though.
