what are your guys thoughts on meditation? i have hardly tried it at all and it's somethign that's talked about a lot. obviously a lot of business gurus and wellness snakesoils salesmen, but it seems like there are at least a couple of genuine people reccomending it.

Is it just impossible for you to try something FOR YOURSELF or form your OWN OPINIONS? Like, I am trying to understand what is it that goes through your mind, are you just waiting for someone else to say okay go before you do anything?

i think it's very reasonable to ask for opinions on a practice to not waste time and energy

I'm legit in a deep meditative state 24/7. Sounds like cringey bullshit but I swear. I did a blotter of LSD one day and I had a really bad trip that led to some kind of ego dissolution and permanently put me in a thoughtless state

If you want more peace, or calm, I would say do meditation. If you want to feel a general "okayness" in life no matter what is happening, I would say go for it. But it doesn't help much with real life. You still have to get a job and all that gay shit. Chop wood, carry water, man

This is the ideal outcome

So, yes?

It's like exercise. It's something you have to do regularly and integrate into your schedule before you start seeing benefits. If you just do it here and there, it's worthless. Take the time to study actual Buddhist meditation techniques. Read the sutras and some Buddhist doctrine like the Dhammapada. Don't just practice mindfulness like a corpo goyslave.

ok thanks for the responses
