Nature is so fucking ugly. Consider this:

>Did you know that the average moose has around 50,000 ticks and they can range in number typically from 30,000 to 90,000 for the most severe bodily infestations. They cause the overwhelming majority of moose calf fatalities by causing infections and blood loss and harass the deer family in general because of their large blood supply. Winter ticks specifically can persist on deer through winter, and if they are not on a deer, they hide in the environment and can survive dormant through all but the coldest winters. These ticks can infest the eyes and ears of deer, degrading and perhaps destroying their senses.

God is pure evil. How is this a being that people want to worship? I basically have zero appreciation for nature because it's so ugly and horrible, and every time I am reminded of nature, I am also reminded of its creator, God, and how ugly and horrible he must be too. Nature can't be that great if man has spent his entire history trying to escape it via civilization. Hunters and other outdoorsman I simply don't understand too. What there is to like about the outdoor activities that they do? Whatever beauty exists in nature serves only to make the ugliness all the more ugly.

I explain this to neurotypicals and they say I'm a pessimist.
WTF? No you don't understand... Just LOOK.
How do you handle knowing about things like Teleutomyrmex schneideri? Or that they repeatedly evolve in nature over and over again?

These things, these cold mechanical nightmarish things, undermine all human intimacy and warmth for me. The entire human social layer is a cope. A delusion. A comforting lie to prevent us from falling into insanity. Knowing the material horror that surrounds us and determines everything in our lives. To fully comprehend it is evolutionarily unwise.
It makes sense that only the most crazed among Us are bothered by reality itself

> Does natural selection favor veridical percepts-those that accurately (if not exhaustively) depict objective reality? Perceptual and cognitive scientists standardly claim that it does. Here we formalize this claim using the tools of evolutionary game theory and Bayesian decision theory. We state and prove the "Fitness-Beats-Truth (FBT) Theorem" which shows that the claim is false: If one starts with the assumption that perception involves inference to states of the objective world, then the FBT Theorem shows that a strategy that simply seeks to maximize expected-fitness payoff, with no attempt to estimate the "true" world state, does consistently better. More precisely, the FBT Theorem provides a quantitative measure of the extent to which the fitness-only strategy dominates the truth strategy, and of how this dominance increases with the size of the perceptual space. The FBT Theorem supports the Interface Theory of Perception (e.g. Hoffman et al. in Psychon Bull Rev https://doi.org/10.3758/s13423-015-0890-8 , 2015), which proposes that our perceptual systems have evolved to provide a species-specific interface to guide adaptive behavior, and not to provide a veridical representation of objective reality.

>It's fucking nightmarish.
Anyone who has peered at the biological world under the surface level of "look at X animal at the zoo, how cool" knows the grotesque horror show that is life. Non stop devouring by the billions every second.

Manta rays slurping up crabs off of the ocean floor to crush them against their bony mouth plates. Owls ripping apart four or five live rodents every night to feed their young that stand ankle-deep in nest feces. Chimpanzees biting the heads off of live monkeys when they aren't even hungry.

The parasites... ticks are only external parasites. Every wild animal is crawling with fucking burrowing worms on the inside. Cut open any ocean fish and parasites wriggle out of the flesh, the stomach, and the mouth. Birds, insects, mammals, nothing is excluded. Not even men.

This is the true horror of life. The fact that were are part of it and we are born of it. Those twisted creatures are our Earthen brethren. Those parasites are an extension of us, they found success in consuming a host from within, we found success in growing a big brain. To the natural world, we are equally successful organisms. Actually the parasites expend far less energy in their quest for reproduction and they'll literally never run out of hosts, so in essence they much safer in the long run and will outlast us by probably a few hundred million years.

If a toddler held out his hand to an open flame, the resulting pain will cause the babby to pull back their hand before they totally burn their hand. Pain is a defensive mechanism that signals to you that something is wrong > a corrective course of action must be done.

What you're seeing is creation's cry of pain in its fallenness after man sinned. Creation is trying to signal humanity to pull back their hand from the flames of sin so that it may return to its pre-fall state.

For OP:

A Carcass, from Baudelaire

My love, do you recall the object which we saw,
That fair, sweet, summer morn!
At a turn in the path a foul carcass
On a gravel strewn bed,

Its legs raised in the air, like a lustful woman,
Burning and dripping with poisons,
Displayed in a shameless, nonchalant way
Its belly, swollen with gases.

The sun shone down upon that putrescence,
As if to roast it to a turn,
And to give back a hundredfold to great Nature
The elements she had combined;

And the sky was watching that superb cadaver
Blossom like a flower.
So frightful was the stench that you believed
You'd faint away upon the grass.

The blow-flies were buzzing round that putrid belly,
From which came forth black battalions
Of maggots, which oozed out like a heavy liquid
All along those living tatters.

All this was descending and rising like a wave,
Or poured out with a crackling sound;
One would have said the body, swollen with a vague breath,
Lived by multiplication.

And this world gave forth singular music,
Like running water or the wind,
Or the grain that winnowers with a rhythmic motion
Shake in their winnowing baskets.

The forms disappeared and were no more than a dream,
A sketch that slowly falls
Upon the forgotten canvas, that the artist
Completes from memory alone.

Crouched behind the boulders, an anxious dog
Watched us with angry eye,
Waiting for the moment to take back from the carcass
The morsel he had left.

And yet you will be like this corruption,
Like this horrible infection,
Star of my eyes, sunlight of my being,
You, my angel and my passion!

Yes! thus will you be, queen of the Graces,
After the last sacraments,
When you go beneath grass and luxuriant flowers,
To molder among the bones of the dead.

Then, O my beauty! say to the worms who will
Devour you with kisses,
That I have kept the form and the divine essence
Of my decomposed love!

>every little feast you participate in represents a few hundred hours of combined horrific suffering that probably is legitimately worse than anything out of the first two Hellraiser movies

Humans aren't magic golems made by a Jewish wizard. We're alive and we spawned on Earth just like everything else.
>but animals are dumb and they aren't conscious
Pigs, crows, dogs, cats, dolphins, parrots, elephants, and apes have all passed self awareness mirror tests.
It's assumed most mammals have a some sense of self and all have nerve endings capable of the same pain we feel.

If some entity it this way on purpose, that thing is the purest evil or at least the most indifferent entity you could imagine. To allow this for millions of years is not good. There's no way you can look at it as good. Existence is adversarial and life exists to devour itself in an unending cycle of stealing energy from one organism to another.

Someone already mentioned it in this thread: The pleasure the predator gets from eating is incomparable to the suffering the prey feels as it is hunted and eaten. Right off the bat life is an unequal exchange or far more suffering than joy.

Heaven is the hell of hellraiser.
There's no death in heaven, the people there live for all eternity.
So they will begin with doing the things that made them happy on earth until they lose all pleasure for them, and then move onto other pleasurable activities until they too run dry of pleasure, they will see all their relationships also lose their pleasurable components, and then they might use this post-punishment life to engage in a little sin (if your capacity to sin isn't present is it really you in heaven?), and this will gradually escalate to the point where you start to seek pleasure in pain, and from there its more escalation, until eventually you descend into the cenobite level stuff, but you keep at it only until that becomes boring, and probably cycle back to the other stuff I mentioned, and as you find yourself feeling bored with that you check the time, and you've barely been dead for half a millennium. Or maybe you will forget and the thrill of the stuff you did would return, however happiness is a drug and likely a tolerance would build up anyway. I don't even know what heaven might be like. We get all these descriptions of hell, but very few of heaven, I guess it would be hard to imagine what the ultimate greatest pleasure might be like without turning it into something unacceptable. The bible is vague about what heaven is like, and I don't figure out how I could even tell heaven from hell when I'm dead because all the things I use to experience anything at all exist in my physical body (such as having nerve endings to feel pain with), and we know that stays behind and rots, it doesn't go nowhere, either, eventually it breaks down and cycles itself into other living things, potentially other human beings, so a resurrected body also makes no sense, then there's the attributes of the soul assuming I have one, aside of being able to experience its own existence and things other than itself, what other properties should it have?
