Yes, I lost all of my confidence after becoming self-aware of how embarrassing I was. Plus the shame of being mentally stunted didn't help my self-esteem either. And I also am a huge introvert. Anxiety, bad social skills, and staying at home all the time, and now I have so few social connections. It's so lonely.

Was in several wars, got ptsd, now unable to maintain any kind of social relationship Hard because I wasn't always like this and people i used to know weren't prepared or warned that I might not be able to maintain relationships with them. Very hard, to be confused with autists, drunks, antisocials, unrelated groups with unrelated social difficulties. Very, very hard because I'm not socially identified as a veteran, and many people would be very angry, or attack me, for identifying as such. Soldier fires a mortar at someone's house, comes home, he's a veteran. Hero/victim kind of arrangement. Mohamed watches half his family get blown up by a mortar, he's a migrant, neither a hero nor a victim, certainly not a veteran. Then while 9/10 enlisted personele never see action, suffer principally from the abuse of their comrades, there are doctors, aid workers, observers, knee deep in what's left of Mohammed's family, wars effect a lot of different people. So now I'm just a dude who doesn't know anyone, go anywhere, no family, no connection to anyone at work. Socially amputated.
