None of my friends want to listen to me play guitar and people always say "girls love guys who play guitar!" but that's actually only in the build up phase of relationships, once they actually tie you down in a relationship they don't want to listen to you play guitar anymore either.

It might be more fun to share it with others, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't also enjoy it on your own. The painting thing for example. If the artist enjoyed making it alone, that's good. I don't think he should be sad that no one saw his work yet, because he might have the chance to show it to someone later. Even so, it's important that he was happy just drawing it. I guess what I'm trying to tell you is that you will probably have chances to play it to your friends eventually, and when you're alone you shouldn't let that make it feel pointless. At least you're practicing and getting better, right? That's just what I think.

I've only been playing for like 6 years but absolutely no one gives a shit about guitar nowadays. Girls might have cared 20 years ago but girls I've talked to cared more about rap beats than guitar based music. Really I only started playing to impress my dad, I know that might sound lame but he's really the only person who thinks it's amazing. My mom doesn't give a shit either. I showed my niece and her fat friends my guitar collection once and played them some improv and they just said "oh cool" and walked off like you could tell they didn't care in the slightest lol.
