I've been on here since like 2022 (kinda newfag ik) but it got worse.. it's more dead on here now and the threads are boring, I just checked this after years
>>
4chan became too mainstream during the pandemic and keeps getting more and more to this day, this brought the shitty types of normies as you can probably tell by the catalog
also bots and discord groomers, i used to enjoy /int/ a few years ago but once they got done here they went there and now it's the same but with flags
>>

>4chan became too mainstream during the pandemic
lol no, it became too mainstream after Faux News ran the story on the hacker known as Anonymous that inexplicably also contained footage of an exploding van
>>
>>84791905
yeah, i mostly just used /mu/ and even that has gone to shit.
>>
>>84791934
wait then what was Anonymous?? I always thought they gathered here to raid and hack or something
>>
>>84791934
yep. the site irrevocably changed after chanology but it was still unique and worth browsing. I'd argue that it was between 2011-2015 when the site slowly became dogshit. influx of rage comic r*dditors and then gamergate ruined the sites culture. then 2016 happened and there was a mass influx of newfags who unlike even the plebbitors refused to assimilate and lurkmoar and made the site into the racebait twitter slop it is today.
>>
>>84792191
Anonymous is just a meme. It was never actually an organized group like the media portrayed it. Literally anyone can hack something and say they're from Anonymous. Normies still haven't seemed to figure this out yet somehow.
>>
Kiwifarms is the place to go if you want that old 4chan feel
>>
>>84792239
ah yes. nothing like being surrounded by foids who gossip about ecelebs all day.
>>
>>84792247
they literally save the internet by documenting countless internet degens and criminals
>>
They have a thread to dox newcomers just be careful
>>
>>84792268
>they literally save the internet by documenting countless internet degens and criminals
I physically winced reading this irl
nevermind the fact you're almost certainly underageb& if you really think like this, ask them about Josh's Blockland past in the sneedchat (if that's still even a thing, idk if he's still using sneedforo)
>>
>>84792282
what did he do that was so bad? I know he hates trans people
>>
>>84791735
Lack of moderation, the threads are boring because you see the same shit everyday. That's fine in some boards but not in the offtopic board about original content and improving signal to noise ratio like r9k.
>>
>>84791934
Eh, it didn't get too normie infested till around 2012. This site was exclusively for artists and programmers during it's initial run, I actually found this site through newgrounds this site actually lead me to other art sites like conceptart and polycount. The incel/virgin association wasn't a thing, hell it was way easier to get laid back in the 00's than it is now.
>>
4chan was shit by 2016 when it became all political culture war shit. If you think it was good in 2022, that's because you're a retarded baby that grew up on garbage only. Sorry you missed everything good in life.
>>
>>84791735
The internet as a whole did.
>>
>>84792666
I mean anybody from any period would argue that when they joined was best, and the next big shift in demographics after they joined was when it went downhill. Realistically it was at it's peak around its conception. 2016 was probably the biggest dip in quality though.

Kiwifarms is a website for laughing at obese disabled people. They are not internet vigilante heroes.

Blue boards + the /pol/ focus just changed the atmosphere of 4chan forever.

More normies, more people who don't actually like 4chan, more stormfags.

It was the mid 2010s and after the whole Trump thing caused reddit to ban r/The_Donald, 4chan's traffic doubled overnight and it was never quite the same here.
>>
been here since 2004 and shit went bad long ago, i'd say by 2007 it was shit and by 2010 it was completely irredemable
by now we're in some kind of black hole of misery
still one of the best sites on the internet which says a lot about how far we've fallen and how dire the situation is
>>
>>84794151
damn i was born in 2006 so i couldn't experience peak
>>
>>84791735
You missed the best years by a while, the site was already in the shitter when you came here. The declines happened in waves the first major hit was 2016, then covid, the latter of which doomed this place.
