Then AI appeared and my reaction was (and still is) "wow this isn't actually expressing anything, how do people think this is conscious?", but that sensitized me to the idea that a lot of text isn't expressing anything. And now I see it everywhere. Just people generating words without trying to convey anything, it genuinely makes me wonder if these people experience consciousness the same way I do. It's driving me insane.
