Nobody under 40 remembers Tom Green's "comedy" anyway, so it doesn't matter what OP says.

In the late 90s, this was considered peak alternative-humor.

Tom Green was genuinely decades ahead of his time. This looks like your average retarded shit you'd see on the internet now, but he did this pre-internet essentially. Tom Green self funded video cameras and film equipment, would film retarded shit, and then walk into boomer producer boardrooms and try to sell them on his stuff. Actual boomers. Nowadays there's no barrier for entry and everything has been done before, but you have to appreciate the fact Tom Green was actually ground breaking when it came to being a retard on camera and he overcame massive boomer gatekeeping with it filming things on camcorders and having to convince tv executives to air it

it was a dream, it was on some thread about "doxing mothers is bad" and someone posted about it, it was extremely vague exactly like this

I mean, yeah that's true. That was a pre-Jackass, pre-Wonder Showzen time. A time when they normally wouldn't just let raw footage of someone harassing people on TV.

The big conceit, however, is "Hey, check out what this asshole is getting away with on television/film." I understand the novelty in that (I watched the Tom Green show and FGF) but after five minutes of seeing that live your reaction would be the same as the people in the comedy club. There's no punchline besides "Fuck you, I'm going to annoy and screech at you until you submit or attack me. Eat shit, fucker." Yeah that was definitely unique, but there's a reason it went away.

lmao, Eric Andre did it for years, and now streamers fuck with people on the street (esp. in foreign countries) for views all the time. It never went fuckin anywhere, it's just TV is a dying medium.

>Eric Andre
Got me there, yeah that's all he did too. He gets the same complaint though. If you weren't watching a heavily edited version of his antics and saw him in the street live trying to shove his hand in peoples' mouths for 15 minutes at a time it wouldn't be funny in the slightest.
