It seems very stupid to join some war, but what Russia is offering is massive amounts of money 7x the average salary and free land and education and so on.I knew someone on 4chan who was a Ukranian soldier I wonder if he got a lot of money for his one or two years he was doing that.I'd imagine that's almost entirely the reason for most people in a war is to make money at this point. Because nationalism is long dead, obviously some countries still have it, like China. But mostly people identify by ethnicity now and consider that the most important thing about them (which is pathetic) so I'd imagine people would be willing to join skin colour wars much more willingly than ever.

The more deterministic a characteristic defines a population, the easier it is to gather soldiers and to predict how many people are going to keep fighting for something in the future, so that opinion probably will never be popular.
