I've always been against immigrations. Due to how immigrants negatively affect the economy, not to mention how they refuse to assimilate.

The idea used to be that, given the fact that people interpret the world in different ways, which is influenced by their enviroment, a society in which multiple cultures interact would lead to each one of these subgroups enriching the other by offering the best of their cultures. This can work, for example, in Europe, where the main ethos of the continent is mostly the same. People from different cultures would still remain somewhat insulated or at least exist in an enviroment dominated by their own people while still sharing the common, wider social space with other groups with similar values but different characteristics. The problem is that the idea that it is the duty of 1st world countries to "save" or "help" 3rd world people by allowing them to live in their society. These are people who DO NOT share the same ethos or general social norms as the population of the country they chose to flee to, and thus the original cohesion erodes. Now, the goal isn't cohabitation and the betterment of overall society, but the "saving" of the less fortunate.
