First off, congratulations on making a good life decision. Secondly, how long ago did you stop doing all that stuff? your brain requires time to make new neural connections, typically patients take 3-6 months to see a marked improvement in mental acuity and it's totally dependent on your own individual neuroplasticity.

thank you

Oooooh I see, its only been few weeks. Thanks I feel a lot better now. I read some posts online where people "felt better" in just few days but I guess thats just them. Thats why I was getting worried.

hopefully that anon is right
how do you stop yourself from going back to drugs in the meantime though

Keep trying to learn new things. Push yourself to do difficult things (mentally) and learn new skills (even stuff like juggling or cooking a new meal). The brain is super adaptive and this will help clear up your brainfog by improving your cognition and memory.

it takes time anon. I have found you can help speed it up by doing things that keep your mind active, that require effort and learning. those type of things also help you from getting back into the habit of drinking/drug use.

>he thinks doctors know anything about terminally online people
this is a new phenomenon they'll maybe figure it out in 2045 and write it into the DSM then doctors will "know what to do"

Brain fog can be caused by medical problems including simple shit like vitamin deficiencies all the way to major shit like brain tumors or untreated syphilis.

Or hell, OP didn't mention if he fixed his sleep. Could have sleep apnea and not getting enough O2 during the night. Or just sleeping like shit in general.

Since can't actually examine the dude it's impossible to tell.
