Community colleges have loads of people who are going there in their late 20s into their 30s and beyond. Nobody actually cares. I'm not exactly sure the program you'd need to do teach English abroad, but if you have take like English 101 or other basic classes for a degree, there are probably online options if you're too embarrassed to be surrounded by a lot of younger people. At 24 you shouldn't look especially old for college anyway.

there is a lot more respect for a more rigorous stem degree that will get you hired over someone focused purely on english.

also, i dont even know why youd want to just teach english? it is one of the LOWEST paying jobs in foreign countries.

get a strong stem degree, go to vietnam on their specialists residency, make three times the money of people in vietnam in their own universities or private industry.

you will be severely hamstrung financially and professionally just focusing on english. youll barely be able to afford a decent woman, you may not even be able to properly take care of your kids, and you will have access to the lowest tier of women because they all know english teachers have a serious limit on their earnings and social status.

also, you should seriously reconsider your strategy. the only thing you need for teaching english is an ESL certificate. everything else doesnt matter. you should look more for the long term because you WILL eventually get tired of being treated like a low-caste person once they know you are only an english teacher with an english degree.

im treated like a straight up scientist in malaysia for only having a masters in biology with a focus in epigenetics. and i dont even work, i live off significant passive income.
