How do I get my youtube videos to be viewed more? Obviously video quality needs to be far improved but it seems there's a lot of stuff to do with algorithm etc. I'd be satisfied with a couple hundred views per video (as my niche is very niche) but currently I'm getting like 20 views. I want people to comment and debate me but nobody hardly comments. Obviously it's a skill issue on my part but how to improve? And no I'm not gonna use clickbait or AI thumbnails.

Pic kinda related it's what the channel is about.

Alright this is my latest video.

I don't think it got any traction because it's visually boring to watch. On top of that the auidence I'm trying to reach (youtube pessimists) is incredibly small already. Plus it is is a BIG ask for someone to sit through 10 minutes of just monologue, even if it is 1.5 speed.

You're that AUS/NZ guy. I remember talking to you months ago. You even uploaded a video at the beach IIRC. Anyway sadly people are into slop and topics that are easy to understand so what you gotta do is just spam. There's a large enough audience for people who just enjoy listening to long rants while doing something else but if you want debates you gotta do the face shown / mic setup and drop some controversial takes.

mate i'm not so sure this high level shid even belongs on youtube, at least not if you want to build an audience.

Yeah that's me, hello again. I cannot really stand "interent debate" videos. They all largely devolve into either side trying to "score points" for their respective auidence. The "Gotchas!" and the clips. I don't think I've seen a debate where either side ever admitted defeated nor even conceded slightly on their position. I find it very cringe desu. This type of debate/philosophy/critical thinking whatever you want to call it should be mutually investigative, collectively trying to find what's true. I am always reminded (because of its relevance to what I'm interested in) by David Benatar and his axiological asymmetry argument for antinatalism. I've followed all the secondary academic papers to his work, and his responses, and basically his argument was just shown through multiple channels to be unsound, and basically got BTFO and yet still, like 20 years later he defends it. I mean its a bad argument. I really don't see what's so difficult about just saying "oh yeah you're right, I made a mistake there". I don't know I've never wrote a book nor been a professor so maybe he has like professional or contractual reasons to never retract things, but it just comes off as silly to me. And like what's the point of putting your ideas in the public domain then? I feel like we should always be open to criticism, to be skeptical of ourselves, our assumptions, our biases. But this attitude doesn't make for yotube videos that get the clicks. It's more like "atheist vs christain" or "feminist OWNED" or "destiny debates pro lifer". Neither side is ever going to concede a single point. So what's the point? It's just entertainment for their audiences.

You've nailed it. Being objective won't get you views. Philosophers don't go on YouTube to have a proper debate. The mass audience is drama seekers whose average attention span is between 10 and 70 seconds. The statistics can look pretty chilling and depressing. With 1,000 subs in this niche you will maybe get 100 people to watch your stuff kinda frequently and for long enough to get your ideas, and maybe 10 of those will be committed and actually pick apart your arguments and have arguments of your own. The average retard will just look at the title and thumbnail, maybe a few seconds of your physical presentation and make up headcannons. There's still space for people like us but it's a very slow grind. I'd also recommend keeping your YouTube and 4chan separate. 4channers shit on everything and are never satisfied, you will attract obsessed crabs in a bucket audience.

There is an entire ecosystem of blackpillers that stream together. Look up Celtic Cat on youtube. He has streams with every blackpiller in the ecosystem. Use it as a jumping off point to find the others because the others will allow you on their streams and that's how you can grow your audience.

Yeah, you know what I value though, is that it just feels like the old youtube. Where anyone with a camera and internet connection can come online, be vulnerable, share ther thoughts, be creative, show their art, etc. The barrier to entry is so low that it's available to almost anyone. I like that - anyone (with a phone or conputer) can participate. I follow a lot of small channels similar to mine and it reminds me of old youtube - where it was far more authentic, passionate, and vulnerable. It's still out there, you just have to wade through 6000 hellofresh ads to find it, lol. Good advice about separating 4chan from anything else though.

>old, vulnerable and unedited youtube of 10-20 min low effort yaps
That's me. There's a space for us uncs still. But we're chirping to a melting crowd of mostly other uncs. I started my YT journey by leaving positive feedback on small channels and encouraging them to keep uploading. The problem with oversharing and vulnerability is that there's a few very dedicated obsessed miserable abominations who will literally take notes and use everything you've said against you. If you have something else going on in your life like a job or a strong support network, those attacks bounce off you, but if YouTube is your main connection to the world, it can get pretty dark. I myself was inspired by one of those old school vloggers who was big back in the day. I learned pretty quickly that big youtubers is just a bunch of cult of personality echo chambers, and for smaller channels, haters frequently take a front row seat, especially if your audience is objective. Because objective audiences are fence-sitters, and fence-sitters aren't zealous supporters like big channel simps, so they won't come to your aid, they will remain impartial to your pain.

Post your channel?

Your post reminds me of a small discussion I had with my dad the other day, about Donald trump (for context my dad can't stand him and I barely have an opinion on him as I'm not American) buy essentially the gist if the conversation was that, to be the most powerful man on earth is not to be the most fair, the most kind, the most politically supported even. It's basically just to be the biggest braggart bully attacking lying etc, who cultivates an intense die hard group of people who also help sort of bulky their way into power. Or on a smaller scale, I was talking to a juror once, and his impression was that one person will take control of the jury (generally the lead juror) and just sort of push and pressure and angle the others to get the outcome they want. Like this is how cases are won and this is how elections are won. The media reports accurately? Just attack the foundatikns of the journalistic institution. You are convicted of felony? Just attack the foundation of the judiciary. And your followers eat it up and now you have immense power. I mean basically the bullies in this world tend to just get their own way. People don't care enough, they aren't invested enough to fight back, it's not worth the bother, and so the bully wins. And all those who quietly oppose have no real recourse because they lack the utter shamelessness of their adversary. It's crazy really.

Reminds me of how most journalistic interviews in my country now are just two people trying to loudly interrupt and speak over each other. Neither let's the other speak, neither wants to back down. But in the end it's just worthless illegible babble. The auidence is the loser.

Some tips:
1. Fix the audio, get a microphone there are cheap mics from Amazon that sounds good.
2. Get better branding: custom profile picture, banner, channel description, video description, watermark...
3. Add more editing to your videos, they're too static. You could use your own footage, like walk/drive around then talk over it after recording. You could also try stock footage too, but your own footage can feel more personal.
Keep shilling your channel around here and other imageboards/underground communities. You have potential. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, I think no. 1 I need to learn editing. I'll take what you said on-board.
