Because most public servers are filled up with teenagers who misbehave.There are no real profound conversations, no real connections as far as I have seen, they are shallow and hollow. It leaves you feeling emptier and lonelier than before. Maybe you're one of those types of people looking for a date on there. Don't even bother. The types of people that spend the majority of their time on Discord aren't the types of people you wanna associate with. Some of those people are absolutely unhinged, also considering the fact that there is a surge of minors, you could easily get framed for something you didn't do and have your actual life ruined, alongside with any opportunity of actually finding a partner in real life. If you don't have any actual friends you can add on there, talk to each other while you play games etc. then the purpose dies out quite quickly. Even when you think that those so called "niche" communities curated to your interests could make up for it, it is often a "grass is greener on the other side" situation. Overall, discord is a nice tool for people that have friends. For those such as myself who haven't made many real friends in real life it is a hellhole full of the worst types of people you could come across if you ever dared to venture out into the darkness that is public discord servers.
