A lot of people have read the Bible, or defenses of it like Paradise Lost and asked the perfectly reasonable question of why does God allow Adam to fall, and the most reasonable answer is that he wanted him to, because through the Fall ensures that Man is beholden to God and needs him to be saved. Of course, people who understand the premise of Christianity that man is fundamentally flawed and needs God's grace to life him up from his imperfect state of being don't read the story that way, but it's one thing to understand that premise, and it's another to agree with it.
