What's it like living in a big city?
>its another anon thinks every city is LA or NYC thread>its another peasant ruralfags seethe at city folks thread>its another whitetrash complain about diversity they dont expreience thread >its another peasant ruralfags shit on city folks while enjoying city folk technology thread
>>84891115What are most big cities like?
>>84891120In my opinion most of them are like a cluster of small towns bunched together like Pittsburgh or something if you're in America, which is doing relatively well for an Appalachian city that lost it's steel industry. Most smaller towns and cities have since become meth havens
>>84891120homeless people outside your apartment every day that keep track of you
>>84891115Niggas trying so hard to get (You)s
>>84891132Chicago kinda feels like this. Some areas are single family homes, some are town houses, some are literal mansions, some are all high rises, some are mostly midrises... It's like if you mashed LA and NYC together.
>>84891101i personally hated it. everything was made more complicated and/or difficult than necessary. i moved from chicago to the ozarks and i much prefer the ozarks. most people are stupid assholes no matter where you live so lower population density is better overall. the cost of living is so much cheaper in rural areas and you can get away with way more. my neighors shoot guns in their yard every other day or so and nobody cares. i grow weed in the open and the only person who even mentioned it was the tweaker neighbor asking if she could have some when it's ready. it's pretty chill here.
>>84891142Thats the beauty of cities is you get options and can just live in outskirts if you cant afford the expensive high-rise innercity parts. All the jobs, fun, opportunity and money is there
>>84891101Don't knowDon't want to knowFuck city people
>>84891101noisy, chaotic, alienating, smells like piss and garbage, crazy drug addicts everywhere. those are only the negatives though
>>84891101pretty awesome Cities>very technological>always networking events to attend>people in my field are around every cornerhad a heated discussion in a bar with a girl about which JRPG reigned supreme. That would have never happened in hicksville>don't need a car, but gets me box>many different grocery stores to choose fromI've never ordered chinese once since moving to the city because I can get the ingredients easy and I can save a ton on food.>large dating pool>>84891132Pittsburgh is a shithole, everyone looks downtrotten, it's like a mini Detroit. Looming fog, shitty jobs, and terrible architecture.>>84891161Well Chicago is a shithole too. The countryside sucks, there is nothing good about it.>have to have a carNot an issue in adulthood, but when you are 16 years old stranded and the girls are being picked up by 25 year old dudes it is>everything is 10+ miles away from one another>not many people about>not many attractions>dark as fuck at night>more likely to hit a dear or bear>no stores for miles>limited dating pool everyone is married, has kids out of wedlock or is in a serious relationship>everyone smokes>shit like heroin and crack is rampant>only thing open after 11 are bars>normies gallore>lack of part time jobs >>84891212BC you live in some rustbelt shithole.I moved to OC/LA and it's been amazing. Pic related
It probably feels like you are a main character in the world, so surrounded by life and at the center of important things. It sucks to life nowhere and be a nobody. I wish I lived in the big city!
having lived in nyc my whole life honestly its not too bad. except for the niggers. they truly do ruin everything. also you can forget about getting a gf you are competing with chads and billionaires from every corner of the world. but other than that it is okay.
It's like you're in a movie, but it's your real life.
>>84891186Chicago is the opposite of that. In the city center (The Loop) it's expensive, but it gets very cheap outside the loop almost immediately, and then once you get past city limits it gets extremely expensive.
>>84891742You can do it anon. I never thought I'd live in one. I never thought I wanted to live in one. Then I worked in Chicago for a few weeks and now I live here.
expensivedirtyconvenientocassionally you'll see some crazy shit
How would NYC feel for a sperg? Is it like movies and TV where you can just doom in you apartment and then take a train to some cozy coffee shop or huge park and walk a few blocks your next destination surrounded by high rises and that is all just normal?
>>84891905>forget about getting a gfIs there somewhere that feels like NYC but has better gfs?
>>84891101idk but i hope it's like this.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N7hQc700Ac
It sucks. There isnt anything good about it to be honest
>>84891101That largely depends on the city itself and what you're doing while living there.>just for schoolMeh, you'll be fine. As a student, you're more vulnerable though.>living and workingVulnerable, but not as much because you can actually defend yourself with firearms if need be (applies to American cities).Avoid the homeless.
>>84891101A constant game of chicken
>>84892289Yes for Manhattan. The other boroughs on average have less high rises and you'd be taking the bus/train/driving more than walking unless it's a really walkable neighborhood like Williamsburg or Queens Chinatown.
>>84891101i like tokyo & sapporo a lot. american cities are not that worth it imo
>>84891101Dehumanizing and demoralizing
>>84892303Maybe try China. Everywhere else hookup culture reigns supreme. If you're in a major city you can get sex, but good luck getting a girl to stick around and actually become your gf. They just have too many options and they lack the self control to commit.
>>84891101Air smells bad from constant traffic, sewage, or both, if you live in apartments expect to hear your neighbors beating their kids all day, expect to get robbed, burglarized, or carjacked atleast once, expect the homeless and by extension lots of garbage, expect to see tweakers going bonkers on the sidewalk, if it has a park expect it to be filthy and if it's not it'll be filled with hostile homeless and minorities, infrastructure will vary from pristine to decade old asphalt and cement with grass growing in the cracks. But it's good if you're social and willing to learn how to fight and carry a weapon, lots of people to meet and talk to and lots more that are shady sidywinders you shouldn't take your eyes off.
I dunno, I'm consider leave for one in my mid-30s. Haven't really gotten anywhere in my hometown.
>>84893070I recognize this artwork
i wish i had been in one in my 20s instead of rotting in a room because there was nothing out therethe internet has failed me for finding people to be friends with or have meaningful connections
