When did you first start coming here, and why are you still here?
>>84957739The video game forum I was a part of in 2006 decided to take part in the Habbo Hotel raid happening that year. I got involved myself and was walking around with a patriotic negra avatar like the rest of the people in the raid and asked some other people where they were from. They broke rules 1 & 2 and I found /b/ shortly afterwards.I'm still here because you're here forever newfag
I've been here since 2018 I used to be a /pol/ chud.
>>84957803based oldfag>>84957806you used to be. you still are, but you used to, too. I can't imagine going on 4/pol/ at any point after November 2014.
>>84957833I would go back to /pol/ but it's just about India.
>>8495773990% of /r9k/ users if they were being honest:>I'm just being paid to brigade this formerly-incel board with feminist propaganda
>>84957852a /pol/ lite here would be fun, just to shitpost and have general redpilled conversations. but even the various numbered and named end/fren/our chans diaspora /pol/s just aren't very good, too ridiculous, or glowing.
>>84957739Started lurking at 14. Began posting at 18. Still here cuz you guys are my fucked up family. I love you all. My little home tucked away in the bowels of the internet.
>>849579144chan is the shithole of the internet but it's my favorite shithole. even with the raging misogynists it's nice that they're familiar faces.hang in there anon, can't let the normiefags get to you
>>84957739I started using 4chan, primarily/b/, in 2013 when I was an underage fag but started using r9k like 2023 because /b/ had gone to shite and r9k was more original and less spam filled. r9k was more real than /b/. I use 4chan cause it is anonymous and there is a charm to 4chan in spite of it being a shithole
>>84957931>4chan is the shithole of the internet but it's my favorite shithole.Exactly. You anons really are my people. Despite it all.
>>84957914>Started lurking at 14. Began posting at 18.and how long has it been since then?
>>84957739I started coming to 4chan in 2007 and it ruined all other forums and communities for me. Everyone everywhere else is just far too sensitive and holds grudges. Everyone jockeys and vies for status and it's just embarrassing. Even 4chan has become way too sensitive and full of massive faggots who assume that your understanding of a subject must mean you agree with or like the implications of that understanding. Every exchange about an uncomfortable concept is akin to:>Cats kill a lot of native wildlife and are a pest>"WOOOW YOU HATE CATS AND WANT TO KILL THEM ALL.">No, I just understand the impact cats have on the environment>"NO YOU ARE JUST AN INCEL CHUD WOKE LOSER WHO HATES CATS!"Just pathetic and exhausting. The fact that since 2016, 4chan has accumulated a userbase of actual liberals and conservatives is incredibly bizarre. I remember when Rob Paul was 4chan's guy.
>>84957968I'm 24 now. It's been some time. I did stop going for two years but I came right back.
>>84957958:)it sucks to see so many people (all normies) going on xitter and shit and posting their fuckass greentext "stories">LE 4CHAN... VERY DANGEROUS.... LE DARK WEB AND HAX0RS!!!11!but yeah. 4chan is like when you turn over a rock and it's a bunch of maggots but you lwk fuck with the maggots
>>84957979>The fact that since 2016, 4chan has accumulated a userbase of actual liberals and conservatives is incredibly bizarreI always laugh when i see newfags calling porn degenerate or saying shit such as "tranime" on this site out of all places.
>>84957979>Rob PaulGod damn it. Ron Paul.
>>84957739Probably first came here in 2017 knew about it years before, started coming reguarly in 2018, then stopped for a few years and have been here again daily since 2022.>why are you still here?Where else should I go?I fit in here.
>>84957979>been here for nearly TWENTY years>still consistently falling for low-effort baitI seriously shiggy you guys don't diggy this
>>84957739back in 2004 when I was 13 and already terminally online after getting my first laptop and stealing neighbors unprotected wifi. I started off in some gaming forum for final fantasy games, then I moved to an IRC chat for the forum. and then the other members in that chat would post stuff from 4chan so I eventually checked it out. been stuck ever since. the fucked part though is that the past couple years my addiction has increased ten fold after I learned about the thread watcher that lets you farm (Yous) way more efficiently.
>>84958001those are based opinions thoughbeitif nothing else, it's frustrating that /b/ is just a porn board
>>84958027You can tell when someone is genuinely mentally ill versus when they are baiting. There are things like repetitive speech patterns and that incredibly obvious "I'm not mad, you're mad" posting style. You start to pick up on these things. True mental illness has a particular texture to it.Also, I made a commitment years ago to be genuine and state my understanding of the world genuinely. If someone is baiting, I say what I want to say then just leave the thread.
>>84957993>4chan is like when you turn over a rock and it's a bunch of maggots but you lwk fuck with the maggotsBeautiful way of putting it. I hope those cute little maggots turn into flies. I love you guys.
>>84958032>back in 2004 when I was stealing neighbors unprotected wifiimpressive. I don't remember a lot of people having (decent enough to steal outside the house) wifi until 2006-2008.I am not a thirdie or normie.
>>84957979Real af, all social media platforms these days are like this as well, especially twitter. Ppl just LOVE twisting others words as an excuse to spawn hatred. Honestly i think i like 4chan just cause ppl seem to actually enjoy things, even if you sometimes have to deal with these political schizos calling you a faggot or something
>>84958057Or, and hear me out, they're clever enough to mimic those patterns to deceive and annoy.I commend your stance towards authenticity. I strive towards the same, but for OPs you essentially have to bait in order to generate replies for a viable thread.
>>84958047Of course i hate that /b/ became a generic porn board, what i'm saying is that you have people saying shit such as that all porn should be banned when these are the boards we had in 2004.they're saying porn should be banned in a site that had boards for lolicon and guro.
>>84958091If people are putting that much effort into baiting, they deserve a (You). I have had enough conversations IRL that follow that same pattern to just assume people are being serious and choosing to be mad and standoffish. "Something something an educated mind can humour and idea without necessarily believing it" by the Greek guy. I do my best to understand ideas that I don't believe, or to acknowledge the truth of something while not liking that it's true.
>>84958074not many people had wifi at all in those days, at least in my area. It really felt like god intervened and wanted me to have internet, because theres no chance my parents were paying for it. and I swear it only worked in my room near the window, like I was JUST at the max range for it. I still think about this sometimes. that neighbors wifi and perfect room positioning changed my teenage life. the connection was super weak, and sometimes it would cut out for a brief moment, but it worked. I downloaded music, movies, browsed the web, I even played diablo 1 with a couple friends from that IRC chat on it.
>>84958101That's not a strong argument. I see what you're saying, but it's not presented in a compelling way.
>>84958128based and divine-intervention-pilled
>>84957739I started in 2013 I believe, posting on /lit/. Ever since I rarely visit most boards, I stay on /lit/, /mu/, and sometimes here. I still think those places are the best to talk about books and music; book clubs in my area, and I believe everywhere, have been massively disappointing.I am still here because I still think is one of the best places to interact with others online. And you know, sometimes I feel alone, I feel like all my hobbies have been taken up by normies, and I am not longer welcomed in the places in which I used to fit, or at least, I don't find that much people to get along. People here are still weirdos, for the most part, and I love them all. Another reason is I just dislike the need to have social media to be considered a person and I enjoy anonymous places like this best. However, I don't post in 4chan as often as I used to. In 2013 I was 21, and I spent a lot of time in here. Now maybe sometimes in the weekends, or some days at night. I've met (I mean online) some people on these boards, and I swear, they've been the nicest people I have ever met. Maybe some other boards like /pol/ are more close to what the public opinion of the hacker known as 4chan is, but at this point, I really believe that compared to twitter or instagram this place is surprisingly chill.I love all of you, even if sometimes you assholes tell me I should get raped, I still think you're cool.
>>84958785fanks bro, you're a really cool guy too
>>849577392010? I don't know the exact dateI'm still here because it's still funny sometimes.
Been here since 2008, I believe. I haven't really been on 4chan since like 2017,but I lost my job in March so I came back.
>>84958047fuck you newfag, tranime website
