Engineering is the obvious choice if you like the subject matter at all, are thinking about staying, and have an American citizenship through your dad. Useful degree, good gender ratio for women, a wasian channer is more likely to feel welcome.If you are going back home, maybe Embry-Riddle if you have the money and can get in. Aviation skills are valued and in shortage everywhere on the planet. Otherwise decide for yourself, we're poorly equipped to advise you on what makes sense for wherever you are from.

They have really cool wildlife too which is why I would want to ever go there. Seattle is best avoided though, I'd go to some university that's not near there. The Americas are also the best place to find all kinds of salamanders to fondle. We have 100s of species of lungless salamanders alone(the old world only has a few species of those and from what I remember it's like 1 pocket in Korea and 1 pocket in Italy). Some really pretty salamanders exist here too, like the marbled salamander(but that's over near where I live in the American southeast).Also yeah, Seattle has some politically retarded people running it like a lot of other cities in the US. It's why major cities are usually shitholes these days.Oh also, Oregon has a disappearing lake too. If you want engineering + Pacific Northwest you want University of Washington, which is by far the best. If you cannot get in there (and it's competitive enough that even if your background looks good enough on paper you should be applying to other places too in case you get a no for idiosyncratic reasons / bad luck) and want to do engineering, you probably should broaden your search to other parts of the country.

You might also want to consider slightly south too - California has a whole bunch of top flight engineering colleges in amazing settings if you can get in (which might not be a clearable bar, it's extremely competitive). Cal Poly SLO, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, Stanford, Harvey Mudd, Caltech, etc.

My social life is almost non-existent, though. I just go to class, and go home. I did go to a festival (BouKawa) with a guy from class and saw Moe Shop... but that's about it.The issue with living in Japan is there's a lot of stuff to do but if you don't find your people and you're not social, you're not going to have as much fun. :/ But I would recommend it! Plus I need friends ;_;
America has some of the best universities in the world. If you're a STEMLord and feel like you can compete, Colorado School of Mines is elite, but I don't know how affordable it is to go as an international student, and it's difficult to get into Mines. I wouldn't call it "ivy league", but it is autistically good at STEM. To my knowledge there is no humanities department there.
Remember seeing some Indian on youtube rank the best schools for internationals by ROI.SJSU was pretty high up there, which seems about right. High acceptance rate, CSU so full pay tuition isn't that bad, and a shit ton of opportunities, being smack dab in silicon valley.Now I don't know much about the bay itself, just that housing prices are insane and there are some shitty areas.Gun laws aren't great but could be worse desu. At least CA still has (mangled) ar15s.
