Eg if China detects 300 missiles coming at them from USA or wherever, they would not only nuke USA but everyone else too. Because they know they are going to be devastated, so bringing everyone down to the same level of destruction allows them a chance to recover, with less possibiility of an opportunistic invasion by a surviving country. Idk if nuclear winter would actually happen, but if every nuke gets fired thats going to be a problem for everyone. But hopefully no one would be that crazy, even North Korea is basically juts saying leave them alone rather than threatening to use them. I think if it happens, a couple would get dropped and a couple of retaliations then people would hopefully see sense and stop it before it goes to far.
