That was the whole schtick. During the "Tool Time" segments of Home Improvement, which was a show within the show, they would introduce a project. Al, Tim's assistant, would approach it sensibly and with the right tools for the job. Then Tim would shout "More power! *grunt grunt grunt*!" and bring out some ridiculous power tool that would lead to some sort of catastrophic failure.
