There was one in my apartment last year that would turn around and watch me pace around my room like an incel.
I was lonely one night so I waved at it while it was watching me, and it waved back.
I did this every night when I got home fron work for about six months, then one day my only friend disappeared. I looked everywhere, my place is very clean because i cant afford food or furniture and I found no spider body.
It was nice to have someone irl that waiting for me at the end of my long hard day... Was probably the most interaction I've had with someone outside of work in my entire life so far...
Anyways, I now have a great fondness for jumping spiders. A brain smaller than a grain of sand, but enough soul to carry my heavy heart. I hope I can meet my spider friend again if there's a afterlife...I am very lonely in this world.

I was really afraid of spiders for a long time but I had a similar experience where I was stuck in confinement with one and didn't have the heart to kill it like I would have as a kid. Now I have come to really appreciate them both for their personalities like you said, but also it boggles my mind the sort of cognitive abilities they must have to navigate 3D space and construct their webs, their behavior is so complex and seemingly intelligent for such a small critter! Now I love spideys :> I hope that u get to make more frens anon, whether they have 8 legs or just 2, u seem very nice and i think there are people who would like being ur fren a lot if they got the chance.
