Is global warming real?
I dunno man. Growing up in the 90s they told us by 2020 global warming would cause the glaciers to melt and all of New York City and Florida would be underwater. This was considered scientific fact. And now it's 2026 and NYC and Florida still exist. So I don't know what to think anymore.

Climate always be changing, only question is, is we affecting it in any significant way or its just the natural ebb and flow. TIde comes in, we don;t all panic and think we are going to drown, because we know its going back out again. The predictions of the OP pic are assuming that the heat will continue to increase indefintely, rather than a cycle of heating and cooling on a larger scale than we have records of.

>>12947068yeah man the entire ocean has increased by like two whole degrees bc all the bullshit industrial society pumps into the air keeps heat from the sun from radiating into space, n all that extra heat sinks into the ocean basically. when the ocean temperature rises it means theres a LOT more energy moving around (imagine trying to heat up that much water) which results in super extreme weather and fucked up deep sea currents (these rely om water temperature to circulate) and the way water in the ocean circulates is directly responsible for a lot of the regional climates in the most inhabited parts of the world. as the polar ice melts, n make no mistake it is melting, a twofold result is that the ocean currents that rely on it break down and the shrinking white surface of the ice can't reflect as much light out of the atmosphere anymore so it just goes straight into the ocean heating it up more and making the weather even more extreme since that energy goes into the water cycle and i cannot stress enough, its a LOT of energy. and of course because all that industrial shit in the air prevents heat escaping its not just making the ocean hotter it's also increasing how fast the ice melts, which turns up the heat further. its a positive feedback loop and it's basically not possible to stop once it's going. hurricanes r gonna get worse, weather systems are gonna get stronger, deep ocean currents r gonna break down and turn europe as cold as north canada bc they're the only thing that keeps the continent warm, and the runaway rising heat trapped in the atmosphere is gonna make a really large part of the middle latitudes basically uninhabitable. we have a pretty good understanding of how this stuff is happening and why but the timescales are not so east to know and the IECA or whatever it is usually undershoots the danger we're in bc they know world leaders would never do the things actually necessary to mitigate this disaster cus theyre not pleasant or easyYour fortune: ｷﾀ━━━━━━(ﾟ∀ﾟ)━━━━━━ !!!!
