You're right it's not ideal. It's like that mostly for performance reasons. When I first made the app, I meant for all filters to be two-way but I tried it and it was too slow. One way to make that technical limitation less of a problem is to incorporate religion etc into the match percentage and give that stuff more weight. Currently I'd say match percentages are most accurate when they're over 90%. I don't like match quality from around 79% and down. Improving the algo's been on my to-do list for a long time

Im at my wits end. I ask about their hobbies and I get nothing. I ask about their passions, their jobs, their day to day and I get nothing. I already know people dont give a shit about me, so I dont bother talking about myself unless asked. I try to give them something to bounce off of but theres never any real effort put in. I ask to play a game, watch a movie, just sit in a call and talk about life, SOMETHING, and theres just no real effort given. Even if I do succeed and get to interact doing what they like, they just drop everything after a day or two. Its like if youre not making every perfectly correct choice 24/7 you may as well not put in any effort at all.

Thats usually my first fix if im not getting matches for a while. Change some photos, fix up the bio and whatnot. I filled all the info out (respectable job, no drugs, only drink socially) , gave a clear head-shot to verify, and had a pretty basic bio describing what my day to day is like, what I do in my free time, and gave my discord out with an offer to play games and vc when im free (I had one single person add me, and it was a bot(?) asking if I wanted a sugar momma. No thanks.) Aside from my one verified photo, I just swap between a few neutral memes and some pictures I take on my travels (like a a pic from the mountains of tennessee) cause I dont want to come off as show-boaty or someone thats more than they are (like a pic of my truck or my gains).

I dont care if im outcompeted, thats just life. Im better than some at certain things, and others are better than me at certain things. Is the 9-5 guy profile really not the way to go?
