I search their tag in the archives, I look for contradictions, or if they have posted in degen threads. I avoid posts that exclusively list hobbies and favorite things; shit like that tells me your preferences but not if we think alike. I avoid short posts that basically tell me nothing other than age and location. And I don't add people who type like retards. I also judge people based on the pictures they use for their posts. If it's a loli or anime girl, I won't fuck with them. If it's something kinda moody and interesting, I will have a higher chance of adding.

Someone's hobbies isn't really all that important to me for a conversational partner, I value their life experiences, how they process things, self awareness, how their mental illness interacts with the world (if the have one). So if a post mainly just lists every single anime or movie they like, or every band they like, it's not going to matter to me overall. It is nice to have things in common, but that's rarely a deciding factor for why I decide to add someone or not. I'm not sure if that clarifies anything for you, anon.
