Should Crawford have accepted the rematch to be at 154? It would have benefited both fighters and he would have stayed active instead of having Spence string him along for such a long time. Would have been good for the fans as well to see a more competitive fight since the first one was kinda disappointing after all the wait.

I recently saw that Ioka vs Martinez, one of the best possible matchups at super fly, is rated as a 2 star fight. Despite both guys being 5 star fighters. No idea how it’s rated so low, even their own standards should rate it higher. As a comparison, Willy Hutchinson vs Craig Richards is also rated 2 stars.
>>
>>140298042
They don't necessarily rate activity, they rate either being a long reigning champion with many defenses, or beating a long reigning champion

Usyk isn't a long reigning champion (doesn't have many title defenses)
And he didn't beat a long reigning champion (Usyk was Joshua's 2nd title defense of that reign)

The point stands that not a single person has been able to conclusively beat Rigo except Loma until he was much, much older. Casimero "beat" him but it was certainly a gift decision as the guy couldn't land a single punch, and that was against a much older Rigo. It's a better win than Luke Campbell who had already lost to Linares and didn't have a signature name on his resume like Donaire.

But this is honestly the case for so many fighters. There's always an asterisk surrounding these fights, with many times it being a passing of the torch between young and old. Every fight is more than just the raw numbers around it though. Thing is Loma has beaten more than just Rigo or Russell. He's got a pretty good assortment of scalps for the relatively small number of pro fights.

Loma has made a ton of money. He's had 3 chances to show his greatness. He could have won a world title in his 2nd pro fight. He could have beaten Teo. He could have beaten Devin. He just didn't separate himself in any of those fights.

And guess what, Loma is still going to get more chances. He's absolutely going to fight Shakur before he retires. He'll probably get a chance to fight Navarrete too. I still think he could fight Gervonta Davis

Here it is from a different angle, with some other highlights in there. Haney left himself open a lot. For part of the fight he was pushing Ryan back and then would just instantly crumble when Ryan switched on. Haney was trying to be aggressive, and he was at least winning the rounds in which Ryan just didn't do much of anything, but when Ryan let his hands go Haney just had zero answers or adjustments for it. Not sure what their game plan should be for this fight rather than to stink it up and fight at max range, refusing to engage Ryan at mid range. Ryan can't fight super good at inside fighting, but he's fast enough where Haney really doesn't have much room for error.
>>
>>140309288
haney got fucked because
>his defense was shit the whole night
>his fight plan was also shit
like seriously everyone fucking knows he is chinlet af and yet for some fucking reason he was stand still just taking the burst of punches of cryan like if he had a solid chin, what a fucking idiot
regardid his fightplan, he shouldve tried just to outbox him the whole night, running circles and jabbing but once again there were times when he tried to close the distance which was stupid because he got hurt in the first fucking round, honestly he made a rookie mistake here, he couldve won had he done a shakira fight, making it as boring as possible but he played with fire and got burned
>>
>>140309288
Ryan wasn't trying to counter the jab like I thought. It looks like he was trying to go around Haney's dumb long guard, and they traded at the same time

Should they rematch, Haney needs to box Ryan. He's flat foot, about his height, and is really predictable. This was the perfect time to do it since he was also out of shape and had poor stamina. Haney fucked up. Hope Haney fans learn to appreciate Tank and Shakur when they fight boring against hard hitters
>>
>>140309288
>>140309431
Also, Ryan can "fight on the inside". More specifically, he can fight off clinches. You saw it against Tank and you saw it against Haney.
>>
>>140309443
Yeah it's a yes and a no here. He definitely hurt Haney immediately breaking out of a clinch. And he tried to do the same to Gervonta who just narrowly dodged some returning fire, but was able to escape without getting clipped by anything big. Haney just wasn't able to react fast enough and didn't have his guard tight enough either.

But aside from that Ryan was doing really dumb shit on the inside. I know it's been talked to death but the bussy roll and turning his back to his opponent when he gets pressured is just straight retarded. Yet Haney could barely even take advantage of it. A better fighter would punish Ryan severely for that dumb shit. I don't think Ryan is an amazing inside fighter is all. He is good at fighting out of a clinch at least, that much is true. His best work seems to be at mid range just from my observations though.
>>
Pitbull Cruz sends Ryan to the shadow realm
>>
>>140309482
Pitbull Cruz is a good example of a pressure fighter who basically has to fight inside due to his size. He really would give Ryan trouble because Ryan can't fight all that great on the inside, because Cruz isn't going to be hugging him. That being said, I still think Ryan has a shot in that fight because he very well could catch Cruz on the way inside with a mean hook. Yes he's shorter, but Ryan can lower his punches if need be, he's done it before. It's an interesting fight honestly

>>
>>140309471
For the record, Ryan has zero inside game. It's just that he naturally knows how to punish a clinch. And to be fair, not many fighters today can punish the bussy roll. It's borderline turning your back to your opponent and bending over. Actually, that's exactly what it is

Tank was allegedly dealing with a hand injury in that fight and stopped throwing his dominant hand, just saying.
>b-but that's BS!
why would a knockout artist intentionally stop throwing their power hand? I dont think Tank was trying to play around with him, likely just didnt want to risk injuring it further. But Tank also reverted to a boxing style which is not something we commonly see from him. He's not going to generate the same power if he's fighting off the back foot like that. Point is he still didnt throw his power hand even after the style change. But that's the thing isn't it. Tank can fight off the back foot if need be. Ryan? Not so much. He has to get lucky with counter or goes into bussy mode.

I don't doubt tank hurt his hand against Cruz. But I do doubt Ryan takes Cruz out before Cruz takes him out. They're both counter punchers, they're both very, very simple fighters, but I think the way Cruz fights is dangerous to C level and below guys. Rolly didn't get obliterated because he pulled away from Cruz's punches. I don't think Ryan even has that in his arsenal
>>
>>140309577
abdul's hand got hurt during the fight but that happened around round 5 or 6, according to one of his tweets he blamed pitbull's head kek because it was like punching a rock, also abdul did throw a couple of nice punches neither of them landed nor hurt pitbull when they managed barely touch him
>>
devin should target 3-4 extremely light hitting soft touches culminating in a marketable fight against rolly romero to prove he's back then he can get back into talks for another big fight then get brutally knocked out

I think from the start Devin decided he wanted to be more aggressive against Ryan. But I think the real issue I haven't seen talked about, is that Devin has trouble against fighters with speed. He can disarm fighters like prograis, and Kambosos and even match someone like Loma, but against fighters with true handspeed like Linares and Ryan he is just not fast enough to react. His timing isn't good enough, his flaws a little too exploitable.

I don't know what he was thinking pushing the action trying to come forward. Why would you enter the only range where ryan has a chance of knocking you down and out? Haney made so many bizarre decisions out there last night, you might say it's because he got hurt in the first and threw the game plan out the window but he's been hurt before (against Linares) and still stuck to his gameplan and managed to win. I'd say that he maybe needs to get rid of his dad in the corner, doesnt seem to be able to give him great advice

Cool, time to find out if Andy Ruiz completely sucks now.
I know he decisioned Arreola and what, 43 year old Ortiz? But maybe THIS will be the fight that proves he's back!
Or he's just hoping to be Wilder's last fight even if this is taken to another decision as well.

I think the answer is as simple as Haney thinks he's faster than he is. That he could operate at that range and get out if it before Ryan could hurt him

The only valid point made here is that Haney's chin looked bad, however that point is invalidated by the fact that Garcia came in overweight. Yeah but those two kittens were in an awfully deteriorated state by the time Clenelo decided he wanted to fight them. An inactive Jermell had no business even being in the ring with Canelo at super middle. Jermall was the one who was supposed to fight but because he was so strung out the guy was in no condition to fight anybody, especially not Canelo. That's their fault and their management's fault, but that doesn't change that that win really doesn't mean shit. He dragged an inactive guy up two weight classes for a fight that nobody was asking for at that point in time.

I don't know about you but when I watch boxing, I'm okay with slop mixed in with good fights. But I want to see athletes at the top of their game, the very best of the best face off against each other. I can understand why people like UFC because they do get to see their best guys face off against each other. But in something like Bare Knuckle, the talent pool is already just so dilluted with bums you're not going to see any standout talent. It just seems like a glorified club promotion. So if all it's gonna be is slop with some tacky backdrop where it looks like they're fighting in a barn, I just don't care. I can see sloppy boxing cards every week, but the real reason people tune in is to see the elite level fighters face off. And obviously a lot of them wind up being overhyped, but among them you get to see which ones are real, and which ones are hypejobs, and all the different matchups. In order for a combat sport to catch people's interests, you need fighters that people can rally behind. UFC has that, boxing has that, but I don't think these spinoff things do. They just come off as gimmicky backyard kind of brawls. Which if you enjoy that, more power to you. But I dont think most boxing fans are looking for that kind of thing.
>>
>>140317273
Your problem is you’re watching BKFC and not TOP DOG.

I don't have a problem because I don't watch any of that slop for reasons I just explained. I have my hands full with just keeping up with boxing slop, which there is plenty of every week. I'm satisfied with that, because between the slop we've been getting some very entertaining match-ups

One thing about this whole Ryan and his weight discussion is pissing me off.
He agreed to fight Tank at a CATCHWEIGHT of 136, and now people are saying he CANT make 140 just because Ryan said "143".

How do we know Ryan can't make 140? He admits and others around him say he wasn't taking his training camp seriously and drinking.
Why should people be catering to Ryan and saying that Tank should fight him at a new catchweight of 143 or whatever? I get that Ryan has a following but the guy missed weight and now all of the sudden we're supposed to be feel sympathetic for him? Fight at 140, or fight at 147. Why the fuck are we doing this catchweight shit? It's lame when Tank does it, it's lame when Canelo does it, and it would be lame if Ryan does it (again). Just have some fucking discipline and stick to a weight division, nobody needs to bend the rules just to get Cryan in the ring again. He's a fucking diva and this win is only going to make his ego even worse
>>
>>140317460
While Ryan is a diva, it would be interesting to see how big a difference the weight would make, since the rehydration clause in the first fight was such a point of contention

>>140317530
Okay, then fight at 140 w/ no rehydration clause.
But that's not what people are saying he should do. Now Ryan is talking about going up to 147. So if a Tank rematch were to happen, they would make it at some bullshit catchweight because Ryan "can't make 140". He can make 140, he just doesn't want to. I wouldn't expect Tank to sign up for that either. If you want to fight Tank, go back to 135, the actual weight class, and fight him there. If the rehydration clause was such a problem, you shouldn't have signed the fight to begin with. It's lame to make excuses after the fact and blame it on this that and the other that YOU agreed to in the contract! It's just fucking lame when people make excuses for these guys missing weight when that is their ONE JOB before the fight, and they're getting paid millions and millions. This is the one thing they contractually have to do. If you can't handle that, move the fuck up in weight class! Ryan needs to suck it up and make the weight at 140 or move up to Welterweight, period. Fuck this catchweight nonsense and fuck this idea that Tank has to move up for him. Both Ryan and Hiney are humungous weight bullies. Allegedley Hiney was killing himself to make 140, and that didn't go so well for him. So move the fuck up in weight. Oh wait you can't because you're a fucking punchlet and Crawford would destroy you. So just twiddle your thumbs till he retires lol. Fucking spineless "kings"

He got caught at the start with his chin wide open for DAT LEFT HOOK THO and then readjusted for 6 rounds.

It was actually Round 6 where Ryan's right hands started to shake Haney and he lost focus on watching for the Left. Even better that Ryan finally hid his big left behind a fucking jab in Round 7. I think Ryan winging it won him this fight, Haney wasn't sure what to do.

Yeah Ryan is the first young and large guy that's also hard hitting that he fought. You can bring up Prograis but he was way too passive back for that fight and just couldn't make any adjustments. Also Ryan not draining himself to make weight did have an impact on the fight. A Ryan that doesn't have to kill himself to make weight is scary even if he has been drinking beers. Haney did kill himself to make weight and suffered for it. But he wasn't ready to face an other young guy who is much stronger than he is and also bigger, definitely. Still, his game plan was whack as others have pointed out. I think getting hurt at the very start of the fight totally set him off for a bad night. Then he loses focus once he gets his bearings again and pays the ultimate price for it. Almost lost the fight right then and there.

Prograis is a good dude but hes 35 now and flat footed. Haney loves flat footed fighters and on top of that he was 10 pounds heavier than Prograis on fight night.
He talks about being the next Mayweather and that fight was a Mayweather level cherry pick.

Prograis did say recently he was considering pulling out or legal action over how much Haney rehydrated and thought maybe he even used IV drips to pull it off (wouldn't surprise me) but he didn't want people to call him a pussy/saying he was ducking.

China literally has a breeding/eugenics program where the governement "incentivizes" tall people to have children specifically so they can enter sports programs to represent China. It's a not-so secret thing that many articles have been written about.

Japanese are small. Just because they can't generate a giant fighter doesn't mean they're bad fighters. Quite the opposite. They have a very serious and passionate boxing culture over there. On average I would say Japanese fighters are much more respectful than their western counterparts. Listen to the delusional ramblings of someone like Ryan Garcia, Teofimo Lopez, or even someone like Tyson Fury who are so full of themselves and all about how they're the best to ever do it when they haven't done anything to show for it. At least Inoue speaks through fucking action. The fact that you admit you know he'll win means you acknowledge he's the real deal but you still convince yourself to be petty about it at the end of the day. Look at the chart here >>140314179

Japanese have a reason to be proud about boxing. Inoue is hardly the most cocky fighter in the lineup of boxers we have today who never stop running their mouths.

Prograis should just move on rather than getting bogged up in some kind of legal action. He's right that it will make him look like a KWAB. Just set up another fight and win, and look good while doing it. He is getting old though, that's definitely a factor. Who knows how many fights he has left in him but it didn't seem like he had a ton of mileage on the tank.

Haney is capable of putting on a better fight than he did against Ryan. Id give him a better shot in a rematch, regardless of what weight they wound up at. Haney and his dad have to understand that they can not go to sleep on Ryan for any of these rounds. When you have a puncher like that in front of you, you can't lose focus and leave yourself open like that or hang around to be caught. It just wasn't a very good performance from Haney.

>>
>>140321563
Bivol isn't planning on clinching Betererbiev, he's planning on out boxing him and keeping his distance with the pendulum step.

It's a 50/50 fight on paper, but the possibility of a guy heavily imposing his game on the other isn't minimal at all. Bivol is incredibly patient. He's not gonna try and knock Beterbiev out, he's just gonna try and out box him while taking minimum risks against the P4P hardest puncher. Beterbiev isn't just a puncher though, he can cut off the ring and has excellent timing and counterpunching skills, and he's the best closer in the game right now. He doesn't let a hurt opponent recover at all. Bivol will need to work to outbox Beterbiev, he'll need to commit and look for openings. He'll need to take risks, especially if Beterbiev cuts off the ring.

Both guys will need to be 100% on fight night, because both are excellent at their respective styles, and are the same size. It's the best fight of the year, no doubt about it.
>>
>>140321317
I think at least some of it of it had to be him blowing things out of proportion. Like when he started tweeting and talking about all that bohemian grove stuff, it sounded like he might have just come across alex Jones talking about that shit on the Rogan podcast one time and just stuck with it to get eyes on him. I'm not sure if the accusations him being on coke/being high are entirely wrong but at least on fight night he looked like he had been training seriously. Of course he did miss weight, but with the amount he missed it by I don't think he ever came into this fight with the intention of making weight

Better Rivals are on the higher end of what I’m willing to pay for. Is he being cheap or am I being irresponsible with money? These would be my first pair of gloves, not that it seemed like a factor in him suggesting 20€ gloves.
>>
>>140327514
I think it's worth it to pay just a little bit more to get a somewhat decent brand of gloves as its going to provide padding for your hands when you're making impact on the bag. I have some cheap everlast gloves but I dont think they were 20 eurodollars cheap. They're okay, but i'm no expert on gloves. Just a garage NEET boxer. If it's something you're taking seriously I'd invest in something a little better than the cheapest. Autists here usually have good recommendations for best bang of your buck

He gave me a pair of Hayashi branded 10oz ones and they feel like shit to the point that I’d rather not use gloves at all. They seem to be in the 20-30€ range on Amazon. I have no clue where the point of diminishing return is with boxing gloves but if I have to spend hundreds in order for them to feel decidedly than these then I’m willing to.
Also while searching on amazon i found two pairs of gloves being sold for 18€ lol (total price for both of them)
>>140327882

>>
>>140327995
>or because I’m a retard with shit form though
you can fuck up your hands even with good gloves. You'll want to learn how to use hand warps as well and keep your wrist straight on the point of impact. If you're not in a gym then at least make sure you watch some videos on how *not* to hit the heavybag.

>>140328016
Yeah I need to adjust to gloves a little as well. It’s the first time I’m not just going bare knuckle retard mode and not being able to fully clench my fists is throwing me off a lot
>>
>>140328064
It took me a while to actually feel like I was hitting the bag "right". You learn not to go full power on every single punch. You also want to stay loose as your throwing and then tighten your muscles right as you punch, so don't stiffen up too early. Also try and keep good habits like your guard up, pretend like a punch is coming back and use some maneuvers to get out of the way. Try and simulate an opponent at least somewhat
>>
>>140327347
I'm almost 20 and I feel like my life is over. Might KMS do I can respawn as something else
>>
>>140327995
Get something around $100. My suggestions are
1. Topboxer win1
2. Messenger elite edition XXQ
3. Everlast power lock 2 (leather)
>>
not sure why people call haney chinny, he got up the canvas every time against ryan who is known for power
>>
>>140328175
heart =/= chin
>>
>>140327605
I heard something about a 144 catch weight, which is bullshit, but I still favor Cruz, if only by a little bit
>>
>>140328171
Bro you're still a baby. You won't respawn. You only get one life, live it to the fullest. You got plenty of time man.
>>
>>140328186
Amir Khan was a heartlet? He was always out cold
>>
>>140328175
He got wobbled by an old Linares, but Linares can hit hard and power is the last thing to go. He did look kind of suspect against Jojo Diaz at one point but I dont think that was much.

Still, the shots Ryan was hitting him with weren't that hard. Haney hasn't really been in there with too many punchers, at least ones his own age. He was hurt from the first round.
>>
>>140328210
khan is an all-time chinlet, haney is a chinlet but he has heart
>>
>>140328210
Amir khan goes beyond the normal definition of "chinny". He was hyper chinny.
>>
It was announced that they have a replacement fighter on standby if Tysoy Feary pulls out again
>>
>>140328105
Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind. I’ve been “training” with my friend recently (pad work, drills and very light sparring). My movement and defense are non existent. Going to a gym today for the first time, hope I get to do something more than cardio.
I suspect my friend isn’t very good though. It might be something weird to get hung up on but I asked him to teach me a proper uppercut and he insists the only way to throw in uppercut is to basically jump on your lead leg while lowering your base and launching a straight punch with your lead arm straight up. Still, he’d beat the shit out of me if we fought so I’ll keep trying to learn from him.
>>140328174
Thanks, I’ll look into those. If topboxer is the paki guy on ebay I already looked at him, but I think import duties and shit would make his gloves kinda expensive
>>
>>140328192
catchweight would suck but thats the only way for that fight to happen, if I were pitbull I would demand a rehydration clause aswell because its like they would be giving all the advantage to cryan without it, cryan gets the catchweight and pitbull the rehydration clause
>>
>>140325973
Where does it say Hrgobitch is the replacement fighter if feary pulls out again
>>
>>140328339
>>140328192
this catchweight crap with cryan is bad news. people really shouldn't be bending over to cater to this guy. Just make him fight at the right weight class and put in a rehydration clause
>>
>>140328318
Pakistan gloves are the cheapest you're going to find price wise, a lot of garbage but topboxer/messenger are good also I'm dumb, just go for Adidas adispeed since you're going to have them in your country
>>
>>140328365
Krassyuk, Usyk's promoter was interviewed by boxingscene about it a few days ago.

>“The IBF mandatory Filip Hrgovic will be the replacement if [Fury] does it again. He is getting ready for Daniel Dubois on June 1, but instead he will have to be ready on May 18 to replace Tyson for any reason.

https://www.boxingscene.com/promoter-convinced-tyson-fury-jilt-oleksandr-usyk-again--182991
>>
>>140328401
If this is true I won't mind seeing Usyk Hrgovic.
>>
>>140328339
If that's the play, then it won't happen. The fight will be huge, but I don't think Ryan wants that

But Cruz vs Ryan would be massive. Think of what it would do for boxing
>>
Team Fury pulled out of the February 2024 date
>>
Team Usyk pulled out.

Derek Chisora was robbed against Usyk.

Daniel Dubois knocked out Usyk.

This is the /box/ consensus.
>>
>>140328441
don't care. Cruz isnt that big of a name, and Ryan needs to learn to make weight or move up in weight.
>>
>>140328378
>people really shouldn't be bending over to cater to this guy
I agree with you but hes supposedly the one bringing the views/ppvs so obviously you will have guys willing to overlook that shit in away because they want the big paydays that comes from the cryan fights, at the end of the day its up to the fighters to acccept that fight despite catchweight, the belt organaztions give them the options of what to do and its up to them to make a decision
>>140328420
I would agree with you but then again cryan posted some cryptid shit about being ready to box asap so that could mean 2 things
pitbull or the mmanlet
if he think hes hot shit he will take the pitbull fight at the cost of not being main event but if he wants to be star then he will take the mmanlet fight
>>
Team Fury pulled out 4 times from the Oleksandr Usyk fight.
This is the one and only official /box/ consensus.
There is no other consensus, any opinion that does not agree with this is DKSAB.
>>
Team Miller pulled out the needle
>>
Team Broner never once pulled out
>>
I wouldn't be allowed to spar any of you because you're all manlets and not HW

>>
>>140328528
>hes supposedly the one bringing the views/ppvs
supposedly! that's the key word
Nobody was fucking buying this PPV or tickets and everyone thought the fight was gonna be a dud. I dont know if now all of the sudden Garcia is supposed to be a mega draw again, but i'm not convinced he ever was to begin with. I'm sure this win over Haney has restored some of his value and brought back some hype for him, but I dont know just how much of a draw he is in reality. I get people want the payday but if I were Cruz I wouldn't be compromising against a guy like that because if you let him have his way you're going to have to pay for it.
>>
>>140328608
They didn't have Manlet weight tho

Henry Garcia is too weak to get his kid in check. hes pretty talented and well trained but dude is going to implode. devin on the other hand is helicopter parented by bill so hes gonna lack the independent attitude to make it much farther
>>
Feary has incentive to pull out of the Usyk fight because he'd still get the AJ fight
>>
>>140328210
Amir Khan has the heart no doubt but when you are out cold and unconscious your heart is out of the equation
>>
Poouiz Vs Jerrel Juicer is happening?
>>
>>140329017
And since the Saudis want to make that fight and probably see it as more profitable, it's unlikely they'll penalize greedy for pulling out again
>>
Reminder that The Toilet framed are Brooklyn Boy as revenge for knocking out Tommy Langford to protect Brittle Billy
>>
>>140329042
Fury should be banned from boxing and stripped if he pulls out. That's what would happen if the world had any morality.
>>
fury doesnt give a fuck about the sport of boxing or he would have been motivated to put on a clinic against ngannou to demonstrate the sweet science of boxing vs brute strength.
>>
>>140329018
Why didn't Haney get kicked out cold?
>>
Fuck the saudis. They only became relevant because of all the ducking and zero excitement of the rapidly expiring current generation generating no tickets for normal fans. The future led by Ryan and Teokino dont need to become oil toilets like Fury
>>
There are still 24 days for Feary to pull out
>>
>>140329131
Yeah that's common knowledge
>>
>>140329151
>if the world had any morality.
There's your problem.
The world does have some morality left in it.
The world of Boxing, however, does not.

3 weeks until Tyson Fury defeats Oleksander Usyk, causing him to retire at the age of 40, unifying the belts and once more bringing boxing back home to her birthplace (Britain). I'm excited.

And so as someone expected to be alert for 8 or so hours why are you shitting in the service sector when your job would be impossible to do without them. That would be like Vlad Klitchko not thanking Fury for letting him become a professional meat grinder in his retirement. Can't have one without the other.
>>
>>140329764
Fury tenderized Klitschko
AJ pulverized him
Get it right.
>>
>>140329772
The pattern is that AJ finishes Fury's scraps such as we also saw with Ngannou. Do you even KSAB?
>>
>>140329794
Feary ran from Klitschko all night and ducked the rematch. He went life and death with a 0-0 boxer and Wallin. AJ had a war with Klitschko and obliterated Wallin and Ngubu.

Fury embarrassed prime Klitschko at his own game (technical wizardry).

GayJ had a 50/50 life and death war with post-prime, inactive Klitschko.
