Bottom is better. Building exclusive football venues just cripples other cultural events that demand a arena of similar size. Open stadiums are relic from the times of cultural events being only opera and theater for aristocrats.

Why don’t billionaires just embrace the Roman aesthetic and make a modern stadium to look like the Flavian Ampetheatre but with bars and wifi inside?
>>
>>140360914
The new one looks generic indeed, but the old one was only "iconic" because Real Madrid plays there. It was nothing special as well. So I am indifferent to the optics, and the technology regarding the pitch retractability and the roof is cool and useful, I can respect that - even though they obviously aren't needed for a football stadium. It makes sense to have them if you can, it's neat. So I guess it is an upgrade, but not necessarily in the sense of looks. And the question whether it is worth it still lingers

>>140360993
The New Camp Nou reminds me of Frankfurt's stadium lol. Better don't tell Frankfurt fans, they might end up conquering the stadium again like in 2022.
I get adding a roof, but it does make the stadium look more generic. Apart from that, I don't really know what they're doing the rebuild for ... it's costing them 1.5 billion (at the very least) and they are missing out on a lot of money due to playing in a smaller stadium right now - for what? An extra capacity of 5,000, a roof, and some new "entertainment venues"? They won't be able to close the roof and retract the pitch like in the new Bernabeu, which makes it a prime destination for all kinds of large events, therefore bringing in a lot of money for Real

>>
>>140365488
Barca already has an indoor arena for concerts, apehoop and whatnot. And other than the 5000 seats you mention, the other thing they’re adding is a new level for VIP boxes - that’s what is truly going to push their revenue up.

>taking the toilet meme this serious
Yea Im thinking based
>>
>>140366177
wouldn't it flood?
>>
Just about every eurobowl looks kind shit. Something about the roofing that rubs in the wrong way. The ones closest to getting it right ruin everything by including a track
>>
>>140365488
The roof is a good addition, despite UEFA being retarded about it and telling clubs when they can or can't close it, but we will see about the retractable pitch, this season rm had to change it 5 times already and it was disintegrating when they played against Manchester City. It's cool to have a multi purpose venue but it has to serve as a football stadium in the first place.

>Barca already has an indoor arena for concerts, apehoop and whatnot.
But not one of that size. I think there's a reason why Real went for a retractable pitch instead of a 20,000 indoor arena or something. And concerning the VIP boxes: they seem to be going for 115 in total, I still have my doubts regarding the financial payoff. Sure, it will eventually pay off, but >1.5 billion + millions lost on ticket sales for a roof, 5000 extra seats, and a few more VIP boxes? Seems daring even before you consider that Barca is in financial turmoil. I guess they have calculated this better than I did, but still ... I can't see a real strategy here
>>
>>140383428
I mean, Bayern also has about that number of VIP boxes in the Allianz Arena. It's not a number that makes people lose consciousness. Sure, the more you have and the bigger you are as a club, the more money you make. But it still seems like a risky and costly move given Barca's situation

you can dig a big hole complete with drainage that'll cope with rain from above, just as long as you dont hit groundwater. If water starts coming at you from below? you fucked. That stadium is 12m below ground - which is 1200cm btw - and picrel shows why molestadia aint a thing in Florida, as example

Seating capacity and size are two completely different things. I went to the two Spanish stadiums in the early 00's and Cowboys Stadium when it first opened. Cowboys stadium is a lot bigger.
>>
>>140384735
Ben hill griffin stadium is kinda like >>140366177 in that it was built into a ravine so its field ended up lower than its surroundings. They had to build a bunch of culverts to redirect water away from the stadium since groundwater kept seeping up to the field.
>>
>>140360923
Since you put it that way, I guess I would select the newer, lesser used toilet. Plus it has a lid, and I like that. A lid means I won't develop separation anxiety because I was forced to watch my poopy go down the bye-bye hole after flushing.
